Looking for something new? Slip on in to Gulf Greyhound race park and place your bets! Beer, and food on any floor, with mixed drinks on the forth floor. One thing you can count on is customer satisfaction... And who knows, maybe some cash!

“Fun and inexpensive”
Reviewed January 20, 2013 via mobile

Dog racing has lost out to casinos, and the money is going to places like Louisiana and Oklahoma instead of dog and horse tracks. I think that's a shame but it is what it is. That said this is a clean place, in good shape, it does have a no smoking area, good basic food and beer on the cheap, and friendly service. Our kids have a good time and so do mom and dad. If you've never been, give it a try. There are all kinds of inexpensive bets you can make with good odds.

“Greyhound Industry Is Slowly fading”
Reviewed October 2, 2012

The racing of greyhounds is becoming a thing of the past as two tracks that were in Texas have now closed. We went to the races here at Gulf Greyhound Park last week and saw a track that is experiencing very low attendance at least compared with attendance when we were there many years ago. The parking lot had few cars and the parking was free. We paid the $3 to go to the club house as we wanted to eat dinner. Staff is very courteous at both the entrance and at the club house. we had reservations however on this Friday night they really were not needed. After purchasing a $2 racing program we were seated just past the finish line. Very good seat plus there is a video screen at your table. Ordered the pork chops which can with vegetables. The pork chops were frozen uniform sizes cut from a loin and not cooked all that well. The prices were very reasonable , however we would not go there just for the food. The service was excellent. We ask for decaf coffee and they made us a special pot and left at out table. There is betting in the clubhouse however the night we were there only three windows were open. However that was really enough as just not that many people were betting. There were 13 races schedules however after 7 races we pocketed our winnings and left. Had an enjoyable evening even if it was a short one. The sun screen coating on the club house windows makes it extremely hard to read the odds board and even the numbers of the winners. No doubt this is welcomed during the daytime racing however at night time it certainly was an inconvenience. For a facility showing some age it is being adequately maintained.

“Great Location between Houston and Galveston”
Reviewed August 5, 2012

We had a blast betting on the dogs and having lunch here. The prices are very good and the location cannot be beat, right between Houston and Galveston. We stay in Houston for a family function and went to Galveston Island for dinner. On our way we visited the Dog Races and had a blast.
