We wanted to take our staff somewhere we could do some strategic planning for the coming school year and relax some too. The Inn Above Onion Creek proved to be just the place to do this. Our staff loved every minute of their stay. The rooms were very quaint and the bathrooms large. The food was exceptional and the staff was very accommedating. Several of our teachers visited the spa and loved it! I would highly recommend a get away to the B & B.

Absolutely great place if you want to get away and relax. This inn provides delicious and creative meals and we met some great people at dinner. There were many amenities that made our stay so comfortable. The feather bed and pillows were heaven, the rockers on the porch so relaxing, and the cookies were plentiful....almost too plentiful...:). The innkeeper, Amy, is so welcoming and helpful and the spa personnel and the culinary staff were fantastic. We have found a new place to relax and getaway.

This place was truely a Texas gem. We were just looking to get away for a few days to relax and decompress. The Inn Above Onion Creek hit the mark exactly. The value was exactly what we were looking for in a "staycation" as well. With breakfast and dinner included (prime rib, anyone?), we could afford a case of Hill Country wine to take home with us. The staff was very warm, and the chef invited us into the kitchen to take a look around as he cooked. There are two jars of homemade cookies in the dining room all the time, which we also enjoyed quite a bit!

The sound of cicadas at dusk and crickets at night was so soothing and relaxing. The breathtaking view of the hill country from the pool was fantastic. We also squeezed in some antique shopping, wine tasting, and touring of vineyards and olive groves in nearby towns Wimberley and Driftwood. Lots of wildlife and stars to be enjoyed, too. We will definitely be visiting again soon! Next time I may even stop by the spa. :)

Can't beat the beautiful sunsets through 200 year old live oak trees.......perfectly grilled steaks, fresh organic vegggies from the garden and fabulous conversation with other guests....or dinner delivered to your room.
You'll not want to miss the stars and amazing views from the rockers on multiple porches as the twinkle lights come on !! Jump into the down comforter after experiencing the thirsty towels by the private jacuzzi tub or shower with 180 degree view!!! Our 18th stay and still our favorite place to escape to!!

My husband and I were looking for a lovely place to stay, not too far from home. The Inn Above Onion Creek is quiet, the food is excellent, and the rooms are wonderful. We look forward to returning again soon.

Just spent two nights at the Inn Above Onion Creek. Overall, had a wonderful stay. The rooms are lovely, spacious and spotless. We stayed in the Kyle room which has a private deck that overlooks a back lawn/field. The pool is lovely, and the location wonderful. Very relaxing environment. Many small details (great cookies, ice machine, wine glasses, flowers in the room) add up to make an even better stay. We will definitely back. The only reason I did not give an overall rating of a 5 is that I think they could improve the food somewhat. Now i should note that my husband and I have really high standards for food, and we've stayed at a number of bed and breakfasts that have truly outstanding food. Based on past reviews, this is what we expected here. Our first night dinner was very good (fresh tomato salad, prime rib, decent sides and good desert). Breakfast the next day was only good. Breakfast was advertized as crab eggs benedict. First the server forgot to put the crab cakes on our eggs benedict so we had to ask if something was missing. But even then, it was hard to tell if the crab cakes had been made there fresh. It could have been taken up a notch with fresh seasoned crab and more holandaise. Grits were very bland and could have been elevated with some creativity. Dinner that night again good - not great. Wildmushroom riosotto needed many more mushrooms. Breakfast the next day also was hit and miss. Great bacon, but the eggs seemed like they were mass scrambled and then kept warm and served rather than made fresh for each guest as is common in many b&b's. Am giving this much detail so that readers can evaluate whether or not they would be as picky as we are when it comes to food.

Having said this - with adjusted food expectations - I would still return with great anticipation. Everything else is absolutely fabulous and totally worth the price. It was amazing to get so away so close to where we live.
