A few women wanted to spend an evening away, not too far from Austin. This place was just perfect! We were able to stay in the Ranch House, which is in its own private setting on the beautiful and expansive property, complete with a full kitchen, private hot tub and fire pit.
Yet close to be able to walk to the main area of the Inn, which sits high on a hill with an impressive view of the creek valley below. The innkeepers were so friendly, accommodating and professional, and made sure we felt welcome. The dinner experience was delightful - wonderful food in the cozy common area. And the breakfast! I don't know when I've had a better breakfast anywhere.
The general atmosphere is one of comfort and relaxation. Several of us walked the property on the trails and enjoyed the natural setting. Such a nice place to get away from the hustle and bustle of Austin. Next time we pledged to stay longer and get into the nearby towns for some shopping!

Enjoyed our stay so much last year that we went for a repeat performance this year. The spa day was relaxing, the food was outstanding, the service was just the right blend of attention & privacy. We're already putting next year's stay on the books & look forward to a few more visit in the meantime. A great place for us to get away right in our own backyard.

Room Tip: Not a bad room in the place, but second story rooms that have views to the west will enjoy beautiful...

We visited the inn for our 14th time (!) during the week after Christmas 2013. As always, the accommodations were outstanding. We stayed in the Martin room which is one of the least expensive rooms, but it was roomy and cozy at the same time. The bathroom has been recently updated to include a double tiled shower and updated sink area. The bed and linens were brand new and much to our pleasure.there was a new, large flatscreen TV. We have really enjoyed the new firepit area the last few visits. With the cold weather, it was a perfect place to sit and chat after dinner, snuggled under the blankets provided by the inn. The new owners have made lots of upgrades, including an expanded pool area complete with hot tub. As always, the meals were delicious and only a light lunch (if any) is needed because the breakfast is so hearty. Don't miss the cookie jars in the dining room! We keep returning to the inn because it is one of the most peaceful places we have ever stayed. You can hike the grounds or just sit in a rocking chair as your stress and worries just slip away. The innkeeper Amy and her staff are outstanding, and really want to make your stay wonderful. We give the inn our highest rating!!

Room Tip: Martin is great for value. Porter has a wonderful bathroom with 2 sinks, a jacuzzi tub and large sh...

My husband and I brought my parents to the Inn so we could catch up and spend some much needed time together. We reserved the Ranch House so we could spend more time seeing each other and it worked out beautifully considering the weather was quite rainy and cold. The Ranch House is AMAZING and felt like being at home! It has its own outdoor hot tub, which we used twice in between rain showers and we thoroughly enjoyed it! It also has its own fire pit that would be perfect on spring days. The place was immaculate and I am extremely picky. The staff went out of their way to make us all feel welcome (Meagan and Courtney, if I recall correctly, checked us in with huge smiles on their faces). Amy, the Innkeeper, was just fabulous and made sure everything was perfect! On top of all that, the food was outstanding and we are used to eating at some really nice places and their dishes were 4 or 5 star every time along with the service. We can't wait to come back and try out different rooms and hopefully spend more time outside with better weather. This place is worth every penny! The beds were also super soft and we loved them!

Thank you so much for your comments and we're glad you liked the Ranch House. It was the first unit we renovated last winter and based on the great feedback we are adding more firepits to the other cottages this winter and working on several more renovations. Thanks again for coming to see us - hope to have you again!

I travel a lot and this was one of my top places to stay. I was there with three of my childhood girlfriends. The experience will always be a wonderful memory and I hope to take my husband there soon.

My wife and I went here for weekend trip to the Hill Country in October 2013. It is a very nice property and we enjoyed ourselves very much. We stayed in the Hays room which was basically as large as a suite. The bed was most comfortable and the bathroom was huge with a separate Jacuzzi tub and a large shower with a window that looked out over the hills on the property. We had a large sitting area with a fireplace you could operate by remote control. The fridge was stocked with complimentary drinks and snacks. Meals are included and they were very good also. It is BYOB but no problem as there is a beautiful winery about three miles down the road (Duchman). If you haven't been to the a LBJ ranch about 30 minutes away go, it is a wonderful tour in a beautiful location. All I all a nice weekend getaway.

From the minute you enter the property of Inn Above Onion Creek you know it is going to be an awesome experience. This past Veterans Day (11/11/2013) my wife and I along with 10+ other veterans and their wives were made to feel extremely "Honored" by the Inn Above Onion Creek and the entire staff. The Inn Above Onion Creek furnished this entire stay which included a 3 course dinner and a full breakfast the next morning along with hand squeezed orange juice, fresh fruit and pastries made by the chef.
After dinner the first night many retired to the fantastic gas fired fire pit for some great conversation and the forging of great and hopefully long friendships. No stoking, no placing of logs to keep the fire going a And no smoke to try and stay away from but plenty of warmth for a cool night.
The Inn Above Onion Creek is a winner for that special weekend, a romantic getaway or a surprise trip that your significant other would feel as honored as all of us felt. Take a look at their web site for more information and the &1,000,000.00+ improvements that have or are in the works to make this a Bed and Breakfast you will remember for a very long time.

Room Tip: If you are wanting that get away from it all then ask for Maurice's Cabin! It is located either...
