The best place you can possibly stay in Texas! The staff were so pleasant and accommodating. The food was wonderful. The quality of the accommodations was impressive. The privacy and serenity of the cottages and even of the whole boutique "resort" is priceless. Looking forward to a return visit in less than a month!

Room Tip: Loved Maurice's Cottage and am checking out Thelma's for the next visit!

A spur of the moment last-minute, one-night getaway and we feel so very lucky to have found this place online! Food is fantastic, service impeccable, our room (Maurice's coach house) was AWESOME, private, VERY roomy, extremely comfortable (I didn't want to leave that bed!) and don't even get me started on the bathroom! Huge jacuzzi tub complete with lights and music and sitting next to a fireplace, heaven! One night and we felt so relaxed and comfortable, this is our new go-to place for a quick rejuvenating getaway. There are hammocks all over along with strategically placed tree swings, it's hard to choose where to watch the sunset and I don't think there's a bad seat in the house. Everyone we encountered was professional, attentive and courteous. Overall, we consider this inn a fantastic value and the quiet and relaxation that come with your stay are priceless!

This was our 18th stay at the Inn Above Onion Creek. Needless to say, it is the best place we have ever stayed. We've been there so often we feel like family. I agree with Aileen's review when she said "one night is not enough!" We learned that after our first stay years ago. There have been a few changes since our visit last year and those changes only add to the enjoyment of this magical place in the Texas Hill Country. As always, the staff is top-notch. The food is great! Amy continues to exceed all of our expectations. We never want to leave, but know that we must come back to reality. Thank you to the entire staff at Inn Above Onion Creek. Can't wait until next time.

Room Tip: In the summer we stay in the Jack Hays room...the hill country view is extraordinary. In the winter...

My husband and I stayed at the Inn Above Onion Creek for one night in between "party" nights in Austin and San Antonio. As soon as we arrived I knew I would regret not booking another night. This place is BEAUTIFUL! Floating in that amazing pool in the 102 weather was heaven. The grounds were beautifully kept (we rocked in a big swing and looked up at the stars in a hammock) and our room was BETTER than the pictures. The Hays room has an incredible bathroom where you look out on Hill Country as you shower. The only reason I do not give five stars is because of dinner. The dinner was good/ok but eating at 6pm (no option) and done by 7pm is just not what we like...BUT we enjoyed another dip in the pool while watching the magnificent sunset. And breakfast was really delicious.

The Inn is a lovely place in the Texas Hill Country. We were in the Ranch House for a family girls weekend and it was beautiful. Beds were like clouds. Great decks, wonderful trails, awesome pool. However, unlike the other reviews I have seen on here, the food ranged from mediocre to really not great. I had the best choices because I asked for vegetarian fare. But for the meat lovers, it was really bad. We were there 4 nights and were served chicken twice, an indistinguishable fish dish and pork tenderloin. You would think in Texas, on a cattle ranch, there would be beef at least one night. Starters were uninspiring, main vegetarian entrees included nice fresh veggies but the meat entrees were not great. One night, the chicken was so salty, no one in our party could eat much of it, similarly the fish was largely uneaten. The pork tenderloin seemed fine but the bacon it was wrapped in was completely raw. Desserts were also nothing to write home about- Chocolate cake was dry. We saw lots of roadside stands with fresh peaches, tomatoes, squash, greens but not much of that ended up at the table. It was too bad really, as it was a lovely setting and first class in every other way. Hope it is a brief and temporary problem.

My friend and I decided to meet here for a small reunion and relaxation! It was short but just great! We hiked, did a bit of swimming, and enjoyed the food. Amy ask us how we spent the day and we said right there on the property. We visited in the heat of summer but I think Fall or Winter visits would be great as well.

Everything about this inn is wonderful! The view is beautiful, and everything about the visit was relaxing. We loved the breakfast and dinner. It's such a treat! We visited the inn for our anniversary, and we'll definitely be back!
