I read the past reviews on this Hotel and decided to stay. I didn't see the first sign of a bed bug. You never know who is writing the reviews anyway. I stay at Hilton Brand hotels all over and this one is just what you should expect. A Hampton Inn. The Naval Base is across the street and the jets fly all day. That was the only negative.

Went in room, pulled back sheets, found the remote control AND bed bugs. Would not recommend it. No apology, just refund. Stayed there before and it was great, now, under different management. Understand that the manager's wife was the one who cleaned the room!!!

I saw the positive reports from others, so perhaps I just stayed on a bad week, but my stay was less tahn wonderful. The first room I was assigned had a mound of live and dead ants in the bathroom. The second room was less than clean...there was chipped red nail polish on the floor next to the night stand and other assorted "crumbs" on the rug. The TV was a bit of a challenge, the equipment in the fitness room was sparse, and the treadmill was inoperable. And on the last day of my stay, when I had to get up at 3:45AM I found that the coffee maker had not been clean from the day before and there was no regular coffee : ( Guess this is what happens when you are the only game in town.

These days there are a lot of choices among the chain hotels here located on the SH77. The rooms are well furnished and a cut above the competition in the $110 - $140 price range; discounts for senior, military etc. If you are a member of HHonors you earn points toward free nights. Included is continental breakfast with waffle maker, and wifi or hardwired cat5 Internet service at no additional charge.

The beds ore remarkably comfortable and rooms are very quiet. I have stayed here many times.

We stayed here one night while passing through and were very surprised how nice this hotel was. It was very clean and the staff was VERY nice! The free breakfast was also nice and the women who "worked" the breakfast buffet was just plain nice and cheerful which was a nice start to our day! If we are ever in this area again we WILL stay here.

Very nice, clean place to stay. The staff was very helpful. Nice large room. Breakfast had the usual fare, plus scrambled eggs, sausage patties, and seasoned potatoes. The breakfast area is large and comfortable.
One annoying thing though is the air conditioner (AC) unit. It cycles on and off completely, including the fan. With the unit running background noise is eliminated. But when the unit cycles off, the room becomes very quiet and you can hear the traffic outside. It is very difficult to sleep through this constantly changing noise environment. It's like someone is continually turning the power on and off. Poor design. The AC compressor should cycle to maintain temperature, but leave the fan running to keep noise and air circulation constant.

I stay in a lot of hotels with stays of 2 - 10 weeks being common. I usually prefer extended stay hotels with kitchenettes but what can you do when you have business in a little town like this?

I always read the Trip Advisor reviews and didn't know how my 2 week stay was going to be like since this place had such different reviews.

I called ahead of time and requested a top floor room as I would be staying 2 weeks. I also asked if they had guest laundry facilities and they said yes. There is 1 washer and 1 dryer that costs $1.50 each load on the 2nd floor. When I got there, they gave me the perfect room on the 3rd floor. My room was clean, quiet and had a very comfortable King bed with a great selection of pillows. I had a small fridge and micro-wave, plenty of drawers for storage, a decent size closet and a nice HD TV with OOGLES of channels.

The bathroom is one big room with the sink and vanity across from the shower and the toilet in the corner but there is good lighting, plenty of counter space and lots of shelves under the counter.

The shower (no bath tub) is large and the water pressure is great. The room has good lamps which provide great lighting and a work desk with 5 electrical plugs to choose from and a Cat 5 Cable for a computer.

The internet service here is great either wired or wireless, never any connection or speed problems. The desk chair is comfortable and there is plenty of desk space.

Breakfast is the standard choices with the attendant keeping everything well stocked every day through out the serving hours. There is a nice work-out room with the standard exercise equipment,. There is a business center with 1 computer that is on Windows 7, has a printer that prints clear Black and White and has plenty of desk space for organizing work objects.

The most important part of my stay was the fantastic friendly helpful staff. Everyone I talked to wanted to do anything to make my stay more comfortable. Monica, Rosa, Zeke and Mr. Patel stand out but everyone was really helpful.

I would consider myself lucky to get to stay here if I ever come back.

Make sure you visit the Kingsville Visitor's center right off the highway, and ask the front desk staff for dining suggestions while in town.

Room Tip: Top floor even numbered room away from the elevator would be the quietest.
