The hotel was easy to find and very welcoming. We were sorry it was too cool to swim in the Texas-shaped swimming pool. A good place to stop on the trip from Phoenix to Houston!

****NO REFUNDS ON CANCELATIONS********

If you book with a CC and try to cancel your reservation, you will pay anyway!!!!!!!!!! You cancellation notice will tell you NO REFUND!

We canceled our room with a weeks notice. And were then advised we would be billed anyway, because they considered ON LINE booking to be a discount. It is the same price as any Holiday Inn room. NO discount !!

This Holiday INN is INDEPENDENTLY OWNED. Corp Holiday Inn will NOT help you resolve this. HOLIDAY INN HAS CHANGED!

Take notice.............this is a JUNKIE hotel !!!

***read the fine print before you book on-line with ANY Holiday Inn***********

We stayed at this hotel 3 yrs ago and it was great. That is why we wanted to stay again. Amazing what 3 yrs will do! The exterior and lobby were fine but the elevator reaked of a musty odor. The rooms were extremely spacious with 2 queens. There are no comforters, just a thin blanket draped along the end of each bed. The beds were very soft but they did have 2 pillows (1 soft/1 firm).

Walls are very thin - we heard everything that went on everywhere. We stayed on the 2nd floor and could hear the guests above us everytime they moved! The sheer curtains covered the A/C unit so in order to get air you had to shut the heavy inside curtains and then open the sheers which allowed for poor lighting. The lamps in the room are not enough light.

The bathroom was a nice size but needed some major upkeep. There were some stains along the wall that probably could have been removed with some cleaner. Along the seam where the wall meets the ceiling, it was cracked and rusty/moldy looking like there had been a previous leak from the 3rd floor and it was fixed then covered up with the same wallpaper. The shower curtain, OH MY! It needed to be disinfected! There was orange crud along the inside bottom! The bathroom was surface cleaned but needed a major spring cleaning!

This hotel has a Texas shaped pool with a waterfall, which was the main reason for revisiting this property. We went down to the pool area and the spa was not working. Also, the pool was extremely dirty with huge bugs floating on top! My hubby went to the front desk to let them know and they informed him the maintenance man had left for the day. He offered to use the skimmer himself so the kids could swim but they didn't know where it was. Short story? No swimming - disappointed kids/family.

There is a cont. brkfst. They ran out of decaf coffee and never made any more. They also ran out of yogurt and waffles.

End result: We have taken this hotel off our list of places to stay!

My husband and I traveled to Kerrville to look for a rental home for a second home and to have a place to stay while our retirement home is being built in the Kerrville area.

Because of all the festivals in the area, hotel availability was tight and my husband found us a room at the Holiday Inn Express. Either it has been remodeled since other reviews were published or reviewers were expecting something far different.

We felt the hotel room was spacious and comfortable (bed was a little bit on the soft side but was not a big problem); both room and hotel was VERY clean and staff was pleasant and helpful at all times.

The morning continental breakfast was not spectacular but for $70 a night we didn't mind...beside we went down the road to "The Donut Palace" and had the very best Kolache - Pigs in a Blankets and fresh home baked blueberry donuts that we have ever had.

We would definitely stay at this Holiday Inn Express again...

This "new" property will fool you when entering. The outside grounds, exterior, parking lots and lobby look new. But when entering the room, everything appeared dated. Even the "suite," which was no more than a partial room partition with a sofa and additional TV appeared re-configured. The furniture was old, sofa was worn and beds were Motel Six quality. Walls were very thin as people walking in the room NEXT DOOR could be heard. We were on top floor which was good because I'm positive first and seciond floor rooms had lots of "ceiling noise". Also, because the wall AC is located in the "sitting area" of the partitioned room, a lot of the cooler air is trapped, causing probably a ten degree temp. difference between the sitting area and the bed areas. Pool area is very nice. The other 2-3 star chain motels in town are probably about the same in terms of quality, but I'd bet they are much cheaper than the $120/nt. we paid.
