Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resort: Guadalupe River

If you are looking for a family friendly RV park, this one is not for you. There is absolutely nothing for a young teenager to do. This park caters to the party crowd. The on site saloon bar is open every night except Monday. It is open to the general public who arrive in their big old noisy trucks and motor bikes. They yell and whoop it up till 2 and 3 in the morning. Karaoke on Friday night is broadcast to the whole park at ear splitting sound level. If you want to hear it or not, you got it.
The police are called quite often.
There are rules listed for this park. If you are a monthly guest you can not even have a rug outside your door. If you are a weekend guest you can bring all toys you have and park them on the grass at your sites. The owners may dispute this. But just try it.
We will not be staying here again.

We were staying in Kerrville so we could pre-ride a Mountain Bike race in the area and wanted to see if this place was an option to stay next month for the actual race. First off we arrived late - no big deal except someone from the bar had parked in our assigned spot. Thank goodness for Mark, the host on duty as he was able to move us to a much nicer spot anyways. Mark was super nice and helpful. We registered the following morning - all good no problem. On Sunday we were scheduled to do our Mtn bike ride in the area, we were to be checked out at noon so we were trying to check on extending our check out time. First thing they did was make sure no one was coming (there were several empty spots all weekend)-no one coming in, then we are told that we were going to be charged $5/hour after noon - what? Really? I have been an active RV owner for over 13 years and have never had to pay for leaving a few hours late - ever (we are always respectful and make arrangements). Our friends rented a cabin the same weekend and were quoted $135 when they made their reservations only to arrive and be told never mind, it is a holiday weekend so it is $150. You don't quote a price and then change it later - not good business practice - just made us feel like they were out to just make money. Think we will prefer a small, more flexible RV park next time.

Room Tip: Stay away from the bar - people were parked everywhere and it can be loud at times

After several years as tent campers, we rented an RV from Cruise America and booked Thanksgiving weekend at the Guadalupe River RV Resort. It was great. The river is very low and hard to see, but the resort has so many amenities, you barely notice there is no river. Outdoor pool, indoor pool, jacuzzi, workout area, club house, and much more. The sites are level, with easy hook ups. The location is easy to get to, and just a 30 minute drive from quaint Fredericksburg, TX. Deer come out at dusk and are around all evening. I even saw a shooting star. The fire pits are sturdy and well made, and the swings scattered around the property are comfy and not a rusty chain in site. We had great weather...and all in all a delightful holiday. We will definitely go back.

Friends introduced my husband and myself to this park shortly after we bought a new travel trailer. We have been down there several times and always have a great time. The staff is very friendly and go out of the way to help you. They have activities all year long. At the saloon, they have karaoke every Friday night and usually have a great band on Saturday night. They rent golf carts if you don't bring your own, and you can ride down near the river and at sunset, watch the deer come in to get the corn which is distributed. Beautiful trees and a very peaceful setting.

We have had our family reunion here for the last 5 or 6 years. They have a very nice meeting room with a kitchen that is complementary if your group rents at least 6 cabins (RV sites don't count). The grounds are beautiful, with swings and lots of trees. Deer come out at night, and there are lots of squirrels and birds. The showers are clean and air-conditioned, and the cabins are spacious and include a nice kitchen with pots, pans and dishes. However, pets are not allowed in the cabins. RV spaces are full hookups, and are very long to accomodate large motor homes or travel trailers, with plenty of room left to park your truck or car. One outside pool is designated as adults only, and the other is adults and children. There is a small inside pool and small spa pool, as well. The inside facilities are not fancy, but are utilitarian. There is a game room and a saloon, however we did not go in these areas. It is located just outside the town of Kerrville, and is very close to shopping and restaurants.

Room Tip: There are a few cabins and RV sites that are very close to the river and have a wonderful view; othe...

We spent a week recently at GRRVR and had a great time. Excellent facilities (pools, restrooms, showers, etc) were all spotlessly clean. Very courteous and helpful staff. Peaceful and relaxing grounds with huge shade trees and swings. River is soothing for relaxing by, but not deep enough for swimming or tubing. That problem is remedied by Kerrville-Schneider State Park about 10 minutes down the road with great water, tubes, kayaks, etc. Overall a great trip and we look forward to a return trip.

Room Tip: Many good RV sites to pick from with great shade and access to pool and other facilities.See website...

All of the people at this resort were friendly and fun. The River Rock Saloon was a blast and has incredibly priced draft beers. We enjoyed our stay and plan to come back!
