“If you want to dine outside by the water this is the place to go.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 10, 2013 via mobile

We were seated outside, by choice, and it was very nice. Out waitress was excellent and we never felt neglected, even though it was spring break weekend.
Our food was served promptly and with courtesy. It did seen that the price for the meal was a bit on the high end for what we ordered. My soda was $3. The food was good and hot but not a "culinary experience" for the price. I ordered double vegetables and received plenty.
However we did enjoy our meal and would go back, I think because of the atmosphere of eating outside.

“The Flying Dutchman”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 26, 2012

The Flying Dutchman has been a Kemah favorite for many years - Located on the Kemah Boardwalk, along with several others, all owned now by Landry's - It could be a nice waterfront dining venue, however our recent experience was far from wonderful. The broiled Redfish was way over cooked & dry and my fried Shrimp platter was over seasoned, and over breaded. The appetizers were not any better - Texas blue crab fingers breading was too much - Gumbo was OK but not very remarkable - Service was good but the waiter was a little too pushy - This is not the Flying Dutchman I remembered... (wont be going back)

“Typical Boardwalk Restaurant”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 11, 2012

This used to be one of the finest seafood restaurants in South Texas until they were bought out
by the Kemah Boarwalk Group, now it is just a run of the mill place to dine. They have high
prices, average quality food and extremely small portions of food served. Do not go here if you
are looking for good quality and generous portions of food to eat. There are much better
restaurants in the area.

“Grow old there”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 21, 2012 via mobile

Not a bad restaurant on the boardwalk in Kemah. However, it is not near as good as they think it is. The wait staff in general is the slowest in town. Not only slow but inattentive. Things were no where busy, maybe ten percent of capacity and it took at least thirty minutes to get drinks ordered and another for them even to inquire about appetizers.
On top of the wait there seemed to be an attitude that the waiters were doing us a favor. Next time I will drop the $250 ne,t door at the Cadillac where went later and the staff could not have been friendlier and quick.

“FRESH FRESH FRESH!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 19, 2012

Being a local, this is my favorite place to go for seafood. My favorite dish is the blackened redfish with crab meat and lemon butter sauce. Always cooked PERFECTLY! The views are nice and the wait staff is well trained on the menu. Kinda pricy, but you get what you pay for here. A++
