What we expected were some restaurants and maybe a bar or two. What we discovered included roller coasters and carnival style thrill rides. The restaurants were over priced chains. I guess it was a decent place to walk around for a bit but we kept walking and discovered fun local restaurants within a half mile walk.

Not sure when it started, but not only do you have to pay for parking, you have to wait 10-15 minutes in line to get into the lot to pay. I have no objection to anyone charging for anything, the public ultimately decides if it is acceptable to visiting a business or not, but does the business know how miserable the parking wait and experience is? When asked why the long wait, we were given a short "do you want to park or not?' response. wow, what a lousey first interaction. I am afraid this great eating and enjoying Kemah is starting to fall apart because someone in charge is too removed from the parking issues to resolve it.
Be prepared to pay and wait a while. One entrance in, and the place is huge. No reason for this.

Not worth the drive, money, time or effort. The neon sizzle and pizzazz of Kemah is vacuous and boring, and why it appeals to anybody really escapes me.

A lot of the games were closed, and there wasn't as many rides as it seems when advertised, and they are very expensive at $6.00 per ride per person for some. Not a lot of quick food options that were tasty. However, the funnel cake was excellent. Great restaurants near the boardwalk

We had over heard of this place from another couple and decide to check it out while we were in Houston on a business trip. My wife and I drove the 35 minutes and it was well worth it, they have several good restaurants and a roller coaster, and other rides. We enjoyed a nice time on their board walk and watched the jet boat give rides. This is a fun spot to get out of the city and have a good meal and a thrill ride. We were so happy we found this adventure.
