Stayed here once before but service this time not too good. The rooms are typical budget quality. Everything worked and was clean but showing signs of old age. Hot water line shrieked when water ran for the shower - at least it will wake you up! Bed was comfortable enough but didn't like the pillows. No one at front desk in morning and looked like no one had put out breakfast items, meager as they are.
This is a clean, inexpensive place to stay. Dish or DirectTV is great because there isn't much else to do in the area. During hunting season, the rates drop even more.
We had chance to travell the area and booked this hotel on the Phone, not expecting too much.
I was Plasently surprised by the nice Manager and well mannerd staff. Rooms were very clean and the facilities Pool, Brackfast, Tv channels are equivelent to more Expensive hotels in that area, I highly recommend this for family with kids or business visitors, as it is very quite relaxing place.
Because of a past bad experience at another Econolodge, I tend to avoid them. However, my wife and I had to stop for the night and this one was pet-friendly. We were both very pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness of the room, the polite and helpful attitude of the managers, and, in spite of its proximity to I-10, the relative lack of noise. The proximity of this motel to many of the natural attractions of the Texas hill country make this lodging a low-cost, high-value place to stay if your in this area. The lobby is attractive and quite large, with a massive fireplace that would be perfect for relaxing with a cup of hot chocolate after hiking all day. We recommend it highly.
If you find yourself in the middle of nowhere and you're cheap - this is your kind of motel.
For the money, it was clean comfortable room. Very dated, a slight bit seedy, but the front desk staff was very personable. Don't expect a lot and you'll leave happy.
I travel extensively and prefer the Choice Hotels chain. I booked this stay because the Choice property closest to my reason was full. The lobby and checkin process was simple and painless, and the price was right. The room was a bit of a let-down. The bed was uncomfortable and for some reason very low to the ground - the top of the mattress was at my kneecaps. No alarm clock in the room. Place for a refrigerator, but no appliance. Microwave, coffeemaker, hairdryer and iron is what you get. Satellite TV with a pretty impressive variety of channels available, more than with many more expensive properties.
They maintain a deer feeder at the back of the parking lot so there are almost always deer visible when you get up and out in the morning.
The continental breakfast was very disappointing. Toast and cereal. Not even a bagel. They could really do this better, but for $60/night or so the truck stop restaurant next door might just be a better breakfast option.
This is a BUDGET hotel, and that's what you get.
first thank you for the comments and review ,we appreciate your stay at our hotel .your reveiw said was not happy about the beds so we invite you to our hotel again as ,we have new bedding in all our king rooms as of sep 1st 2008 and also we have added more to our breakfast , we are aaa approved ** hotel and have 100 percent clean rooms and also new furniure was added to all the rooms a few months a go , and we have now rooms with microwaveand fridge available on request.,wireless acees is also available in all rooms too. we are economy brand but we give a higher service than most midscale hotels and lastly we love senior citizens and families with kids and we go the extra mile to satisfy everyones needs ,we have an outdoor pool open all year round ,tennis court and alot of outdoor activities are in a 5 to 20 mile radius around and in the s llano river
