“Beautiful experience”

We recently spent a four day weekend with friends exploring the historic town of Jefferson, Texas. We stayed at the Azalea Inn, which was a cozy and comfortable bed and breakfast in town. The accomodations were great! Comfortable bed, lots of room in our room, cable TV, outside patio for breakfast or indoor parlor for relaxing or eating. Private bathroom, coffee maker, and homemade candies when we arrived. Innkeepers Valerie and Sam couldn't have made our stay any better. Each morning we were served a scrumptious breakfast fit for kings - fruit, breads, juice and an array of egg dishes, hashbrown casseroles, other delicious choices. The grounds were landscaped and immaculately kept and added to the relaxing atmosphere. We were very pleased and will definitely plan a return trip!

We just returned from our first stay at the Azalea Inn. We stayed in the Perry Room which has a lot of history telling about a relative of the owner. The Inn was clean and comfortable and beautifully appointed with antiques. The owners were personally attentive to any need we had. The generous breakfast was scrumptious! We look forward to returning again very soon!

Room Tip: All rooms were very nice. You would be happy with any of them.

I have been to several B & B's in Jefferson and was referred to this one by a friend as it is not on the "main strip" for B & B's. So for our Anniversary we stayed the night and found it charming and well kept, clean, fresh and quiet. That is the best part of not being on the main drag as with both previous stays. It is one of the most private as far as entrances and has great parking. With that being said, it is not far off the main area of town, resturants and shops, just far enough to damper the traffic. OK, so location is off the beaten path but the quiet makes up for it by far. I will say it is easy to find and you won't find it a problem being off the main strip. Just want to point out I found the location nice compared to other B & B's.

On to my favorite part: the food. Upon entry to room we were greeted with refreshments that was nice, we were given a tour of the facility by the owner which was great and she was a wonderful historian of the establishment and pieces in the rooms as the others werent occupied so we were able to see those as well and they were great too. The friend that referred me told me the breakfast was the best. I will admit I thought ok breakfast is breakfast, OH WAS I WRONG! After eating the HUGE, gourmet breakfast, brought to our room which we loved, plenty of coffee no need to leave the room It was soooo awesome. No going downstairs to eat and getting dressed to do it, we stayed in our jammies and ate at a table that could hardly hold the feast. The room cost about 100- the going rate for modest B & B some in Jefferson go for alot more. As we left my husband and I both agreed the breakfast alone was worth 100-the money spent on the room..... Give this place a try YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. We plan to go back.

Room Tip: We had the room in the front of the house and are morning people and love the sunlight, if you are n...

We booked the Azalea inn for the Christmas break. We stayed in the West room. The stay was wonderful. The host, Valerie was very pleasant and welcoming. She pampers you by serving breakfast in your room. My wife and I loved this very much. Further, we wanted a vegetarian breakfast and she provided that with imaginative dishes. They were tasty and left us wanting more (though there was not any place in our tummies). All in all a great experience. During our stay we visited the Caddo Lake State Park and did some hiking and canoeing. It was fun. If we ever are in the Jefferson area we will go back here.
Oh btw... they have an extensive movie collection that adds to the relaxing evenings. They had about 500 DVD/VHS sorted by genre in a easy to use book. We watched at least 5 movies in two days.

I really don't care for b7b's. Rather I prefer to check out local diners, coffee shops or cafes for breakfast. Here's the exception. It's tempting to go back to Jefferson just for Valerie's decadent breakfasts. Each morning breakfast is delivered to your room. Is it generous? It comes on a doubledecker tray and its loaded with home-made treats like strawberry stuffed French toast, hash brown casserole, muffins, breakfast burrito, juices. The first night we were greeted with a plate of home-made candy. We stayed in the Perry Room which is very comfortable and has a private entrance. Coffee maker and DVD player in the room with a huge DVD library. Point of information...the shower stall is claustrophobic. Not that uncommon in an after-market shower. Other than that a great experience.

Room Tip: As stated the Perry Room has a private entrance.

I was going to be in nearby Longview, Tx, so I googled to find an interesting town nearby to visit and found Jefferson. I had been wanting to try out a B&B, and after searching this site, I decided on the Azalea Inn. I and my best friend had a great 2-night stay. We stayed in the West Room, which is at the front of the house; it was very comfortable and clean. The house is one of the prettiest in Jefferson in my opinion. It has beautiful outdoor areas and enough parking space for guests. We went in December, so the temperatures were too cool for us to sit on the porch or patio, but they were still very welcoming. Sam and Valerie are very geniune and gracious hosts. We felt very comfortable from the moment we arrived. The breakfast was divine and we both got the cookbook.

Room Tip: We stayed in the West room, which faces the street. Sam and Valerie provided earplugs because there...

Second stay at Azalea Inn, both times to celebrate our anniversary. We like the charming coziness of The West room. The breakfasts are superb, so much so we purchased 'Our First Cookbook' in hopes of sharing some of Valerie's wonderful food with family and friends. B&B's offer breakfast but few with the personal touch of bringing it to your room. Don't allow having only 3 rooms cause you to question whether to book a room. Value, intimacy and comfort abound, nothing is spared. Valerie and Sam have now added a beautifully decorated parlor for a perfect get-a-way from the world's fast pace. Visiting quaint Jefferson is an added plus to your stay at the Azalea Inn, not the other way around.

Room Tip: The West room is the smallest and only room we have stayed in. We like cozy, so it seems perfect fo...
