My husband, Mom and I really enjoyed the railroad. Lots of history explored on the ride. A must for your visit to Jefferson!

“time change!”
Reviewed August 1, 2012

Well, we got our info on the inet...about the ghost train in which I heard sightings of Bigfoot, so I was excited! Got there 15 minutes early but the train left at 9 instead of 930! talked to a guy about it and he said it was changed...long drive to miss this train ride...did not want to ride it at 230 with 106+ temps....dissapointed.....

“Disappointing experience”
Reviewed July 31, 2012

Purchased tickets for train ride on Cowboy Weekend. There were no reenactsments in the town, so nothing really kid friendly. Ate lunch and visited some stores in Jefferson basically passing the time until our train ride @ 4:30. When we arrived at the depot @ 4:00, we were told the 2:30 train had derailed probably due to being over weight limit. We were offered a refund or wait until 9:00 that night. Opted for refund. Clerk had trouble printing us a refund receipt. When we told her we would like something showing our credit cards were credited, she was very rude and put-out that she had to work with us. Finally got a receipt, but I was surprised that someone working with the public in a tourist town, was that "unfriendly". Would not recommend this train ride. Think they need to work on their equipment and employees.

“Jefferson Railway”

It is ok a little pricey for what you get for the October train ride. Could be made better. But if you have never done it is ok.
