My boyfriend and I stayed here over Easter weekend. The hosts/hostess were very welcoming. Breakfast was spectacular. Rooms and grounds kept very clean. You can ask for a list of activities around town. They have one compiled for your convenience. They have really thought of everything you could possibly need to have an excellent stay. Upon our arrival we were greeted by Jessie who made us feel welcome and showed us all around the house. Our room was actually across the road in a small quaint cottage which was setup nicely. After dinner we joined a group of guests around the fire pit out back for a glass of wine and conversations. Breakfast was service the next morning on the wrap around front porch and the Blueberry Bread Pudding and Frittata was awesome!
We are all so happy that you enjoyed your stay here at the bed and breakfast. Did you get your bread pudding recipe before you left? We are always happy to hear about the new rooms across the road. We will return! Our room was well decorated, the bed was comfy and it was quiet. Jessi's breakfast is a two course gourmet breakfast, absolutely amazing!! Each evening, the fire pit is lit for s'mores in the courtyard area. Extra blankets are available for those cool evenings and mornings to make it cozy around the fire. Fresh brewed coffee is ready in the plush garden courtyard each morning where you can sit by the fire, visit with new friends, and listen to the birds chirp as you anticipate the wonderful breakfast Jessi is preparing. Historic downtown and nature walking trails are just a few blocks away. We parked our car and walked all over. I highly recommend!!
Gosh!!! mornings in our garden fire pit area are very special. I am so happy you all were here while all of the birds were out. Actually, I am getting ready to fill up the bird feeders right now. For a person that thinks they can't do a Bed & Breakfast this is the perfect place to test it out. This has the personal feel of a Bed & Breakfast but not the uncomfortable feel that some have. Some of the Rooms are not actually in the house so you do not feel that you will disturb others as you come and go. The room we stayed in for a girls weekend was perfect it had two beds, a perfect claw footed soaking tub, along with bath salts and bubble bath and had a stand alone shower. Our host and hostess were great leaving us the Ingredients for home made smores on a table by the fire pit. The breakfast end of the B & B is where this couple kicks it into high gear. The food is amazing and you will not walk away hungry. The portions are not for those dieting, (even thought you might not realize you are eating on the healthier side) I actually think breakfast is the part they love the most. You can tell this couple loves what they are doing and love to have guest, even if you choose a room not in the house. They are pet friendly so if you allergic to Dogs this might need to be stated up front when booking.
This B & B is also located with in walking distance to all Jefferson shopping. This is one location that should be able to please even the pickiest of people.

We stayed at the Carriage House B&B this past weekend for Mardi Gras Upriver and to celebrate my birthday. All around wonderful trip. Jessie and BW were incredibly accommodating and so sweet.
We stayed in the Waterhouse house one block over from the main property. We were steps away from downtown but far enough away that the motorcycle and train noises were minimal.
The breakfast in the morning was AWESOME. Jessie can cook. We regularly have brunch in Dallas and she could easily hold her own against chefs here. Fellow guests were wonderful and we enjoyed talking with them as well. I may have stolen some kisses from resident pup Birdie.
Can't wait to return soon!
I am so happy you enjoyed your birthday stay here in Jefferson. It was quite a weekend with all of the Mardi Gras Hoopla around town. Maybe when you come the next time you will get to enjoy the moments of quaintness and relaxation Jefferson has to offer. Birdie says "Helllooooo."
