I had been to Las Calinas when the mustangs first arrived over 30 years ago, in what was to be a planned community. It looks like urban sprawl took over but the mustangs still pound their way from Mexico across the Rio Bravo and up into Texas. As always, if you listen closely you can almost hear their breathing.

The lifesize mustang statues are done very well in this beautiful and clean courtyard... The water adds a nice touch and in the warm weather this can be fun to let the children run and play.

Very nice place to go on a date. IF you are in the area. Not worth driving out to Las Colinas for but still cool.

If you're in the area,be sure and visit. The nine wild mustangs crossing a stream are beautiful. Each is one and half times larger than actual size and took the artist 8 yrs, to create them in bronze. So worth the time to park and visit and enjoy the aesthetic artistry. We were lucky and visited late on a Sun. afternoon when there was ample free street parking.

The mustangs are really cool! They are one and a half life size. If you go, make certain to go to the little exhibit (I think it's free) in the base of the left tower as you face the mustangs. In it they have a little movie that gives great info on how the staues were cast, the process, etc. They also have some wonderful Remington (artist, not gun manufacturer) and other sculptures.
I would also recommend you go through the central tower and catch a water taxi to the Mandalay Canal--gives you the fun of a water taxi without going to lovely Venicia!
