“Downhome cooking with a twist”
Reviewed July 16, 2014

This restaurant is home to most Irving residents and is one of their favorites. Daily lunch specials give this place one of the best meal values available in Irving. Just north of 183 on O'Connor, the long time business is expanding in 2014. They have famous pies and holiday specials on them. You will meet families, business people and retirees at PJ's. It is a fun atmosphere where everyone seems to know everyone. This is because the regulars have been going there for years. For good reason, the food is very good. Home cooking or down home cooking with good sized portions. The rolls and cornbread served with meals are extra good, too. I keep coming back for more whenever I'm in the neighborhood. Sometimes, it's worth the trip even when you are not in the neighborhood. Go there, you'll be glad you did.

“Great Home Style Cooking”
Reviewed March 17, 2014

Quick in and out place immediately north from Hwy. 183 on O'Connor Road. Home style cooking and fun waitresses that have choices of home style food and vegetables followed by many different pies to eat a slice there or take home. Family atmosphere for dining in. Not equipped for a bus load, but definitely a car load.

“Size matters in Texas - PJ signs up for Texas”
Reviewed December 17, 2013

We had our lunch out her and whoosh it turned out to be a Lunch+Dinner stuff. I am not sure if coke was unlimited but the lady kept pouring coke after coke till we said No. The steak with chips was a treat while the vegetarian platter had some wholesome quantity. what was great was for $8, you get 4 sides - I settled for a creamy corny cheesy soup that turned out to be a first time for me - delicious, fries, bread with creamy cheese, peas-carrot salad and a mashed potato spiced with herbs, pepper - that was owesome meal I had in recent times.
Tables were quite small and we were struggling and juggling around with the plates but the food taste washed away those small discomfort.
Its a steal deal at PJ's cafe. go for it.
