The room was fine. It was quite and a peaceful nights sleep. However, I did not receive my wake up call at 4 a.m. as I requested. (Didn't receive one at all).
The icing on the cake was as I was standing in the lobby at 4:45-4:50 a.m. waiting on the airport shuttle, a man came stumbling in asking the clerk to call 911. He was having chest pains & looked very pale. The clerk ask him if he was staying at that hotel, the gentleman replied "yes" and gave his room number. The clerk then said, "why didn't you call 911 from your room, why are you walking around, you could have called from your room". I was so beside myself, I helped the gentleman to the sofa and continued to talk to him, telling him to continue to breathe deeply. I could not believe that the clerk was so inconsiderate, instead of calling 911 immediately. Baylor's EMS arrived shortly thereafter and took the gentleman to the hospital. I sincerely hope the man is alright. I was born & raised in Dallas & am just appalled at this desk clerks uncaring actions. I spoke with Dalton & made my reservations over the phone. Kenneth checked me in & was very kind & courteous also. They should all be like the two of them.

I was finishing off my road trip in the Dallas area, so I booked an airport motel using airline points the night before my departure.

This Best Western is straightforward to find, and is next door to a Wal-Mart SuperCenter, a chinese buffet, a 7-11, a Subway, and a movie theatre. These sites are actually within walking distance from your room. That said, being an airport motel, you're not getting any ambiance.

It's a motel (doors open to the outside), the bed and desk are adequate, and the plumbing works as expected. The bathroom could use some caulking, and they use really cheap motel soaps/shampoos, but that could be expected.

Free wi-fi is a huge plus, and the TV is bare bones but adequate. The in-room coffee maker is on its last legs. There is apparently a free continental breakfast, but I never had the time to grab it..

Surprisingly, for an airport motel, I didn't notice the (very low-flying) airplanes overhead. However, you really do notice the noise from the freeway. Bring earplugs. The cleaning staff is very keen -- if you plan on still being in your room at 8 o'clock in the morning, you should place that "do not disturb" tag on your door. (Checkout is at 11 am or earlier.)

All in all, if you go in with the knowledge that this is a no-frills airport motel, then you should be ok. For a motel, the location is really good (due to access to the Wal-Mart and the freeway), and the main aspects (bed, washrooms) are adequate.

This Best Western seems to have recently upgraded their rooms. Even though the entrance to the rooms is directly to the outside it was convenient for us to park right outside the room. There was a nicely landscaped courtyard with a pool for the family to enjoy.
The rooms and the lobby were very nicely decorated, and the location is close to the airport and many restaurants. The shuttle service to the airport was great.
I will stay here again the next time I am flying out of DFW.
