“Nice getaway”
Reviewed November 20, 2012

Had never stayed here before, but came up for the Cowboys' game. Nice room, beautiful room, exceptional staff -- all very friendly. Had dinner with my husband at The Ranch in Las Colinas -- as recommended by the concierge -- loved it. It was nice taking the complementary drive to the restaurant and back. Had breakfast buffet at the hotel -- delicious with home-made breads. Great stay, good beds.

From the moment I stepped into the Mandalay I knew I was going to like this hotel.
Staff are incredibly attentive and friendly and the guy on the front desk was a pleasure to deal with. Had flown for 25hrs and was in no mood for a long check in and he picked up on this and helped me get to my room in minutes....thank goodness for observant people!
The bed was exceptional and it felt like sleeping on clouds and there are more than enough pillows to sleep with.
There is wifi in the room (for a charge) but you are able to get this waived if you join their club and this was free...so a no brainer.
Tv has many channels and is a nice 40 inch flat screen, and there is a safe in the room big enough for a laptop.
Bathroom well stocked and has a bathrobe and loads of towels and for the ladies and those non folliculily challenged, there is a hair dryer.
There is enough US style plugs for the power hungry among us and the room was well lit when need be.
The maid service didn't come until I called them on the first day, but were thorough with their duties for the rest of my stay.
The pool was nothing special but nice enough and great to lie by during a hot day.
The gym is well equipped and has towels, water, personalised tv's, circuit weights, free weights and running machines etc. actually an excellent gym.
The breakfast was excellent and there was a lot to chose from and the waiters we're superb! Not a sad face among them and made getting up a pleasure.

Overall a stunning stay and I would definitely recommend staying here.

Room Tip: Loads of free parking at the hotel and a bar across the road called the cellar which was also nice

This was our first time to stay here - very nice experience. We had a nice suite at a reasonable price. Omni provides little extras that are much appreciated, including free wifi & free morning beverage of choice delivered to your room at your designated time. I would definitely stay here again.

I would have given this hotel 5 stars had it been just a tad closer to downtown Dallas but my hotel stay was otherwise perfect! I got a real meal-deal on this place through the Omni website. Got the "stocking stuffer" deal where you get a gift card to a business--mine happened to be Starbucks. Score! Check in was a breeze--can do it online before you arrive so you just show up, grab your key and go up to your room. I had signed up for the Omni perks program so that included daily coffee delivery in the morning and the WSJ. The hotel also has complimentary Starbucks in the lobby the the morning which gets cleared away by 7am. Afternoons had either complimentary lemonade or hot apple cider in the lobby. They offer complimentary ironing/pressing through the hotel but also have iron/ironing board/starch in the rooms. Complimentary onsite parking--always nice not to have to cough up $30-40 for daily parking! All the employees were super-nice and accomodating. We got a late checkout of 2pm without any fuss. They also have a complimentary Navigator car service if you are traveling within 5 miles of the property which I had to use one time and was a great service to have. I had 1 breakfast and 1 lunch at the hotel--both buffets and they were fine. My 4 year-old ate free which was really nice! I didn't get to check out the spa, gym, or pool/hot-tub. I have to go back to the area in April and will definitely stay at the Omni Mandalay again---really wonderful service, super clean, and has all the amenities you could want.

Stayed at this hotel for 4days/3nights. Location chosen due to proximity to a conference.
The location is great. Right off the freeway, about 15 minutes from DFW and about 20 minutes from downtown Dallas. The development, Las Colinas, appears not-quite-finished with a partially constructed monorail track and undeveloped land, but the area is clean and the canals/lake give it a nice touch.
The hotel is clean and comfortable and has a lot of nice touches. Coffee in the morning in the lobby along with lemonade/water/apple cider in the afternoon is really refreshing. Elevators are fast and the rooms are large and comfortable. Walls are thick and insulated so one does not hear one's neighbors. Turn-down service with goodies and daily newspapers are great. Omni select membership (free to signup) gives you free wifi.
The Trevia restaurant has a nice buffet and young kids eat free. The outdoor pool is a little chilly for November and the kids play area is probably good for about 10 minutes of occupying a little one's attention.
The fitness center is well equipped with plenty of cardio and free weights.
Staff is friendly and accomodating (especially with late check out) and we never had any issues with parking.
In summary, we couldn't believe the value we paid for the hotel and the services we received. Really phenomenal. Would stay here again without reservation.

What a friendly place to stay!

As a very frequent traveller, I come across a lot of hotels. The Omni Mandalay is really top notch. Great service, and very helpful staff that know all the ins and outs about the local area, and anything a traveller could require.

Highly recommended!
