“Good luch food”
Reviewed September 3, 2012

We found good lunch options including sandwiches, burgers, salads, and a kid's menu. The inside is simple and perfect for conversation. The Philly sandwich was very good and the home made chips were tasty!

“An Average Lunch Location, Not Bad, Not Great”
Reviewed August 23, 2012

Had the Hot Dam Reuben at 11:30 a.m., and was informed they were out of the German Potato Salad after ordering and paying. Not sure how you run out of something at the beginning of the lunch hour, unless it wasn't made to start with. Substituted the homemade chips. No big deal, a little greasy, but I was looking forward to the Potato Salad with the Reuben, anyway.

The Reuben was average, but a little skimpy for the price. I have had a lot better Reuben's.

The Patty Melts were ordered by others in our party. They were, except one was not fully cooked, and most of it was tossed, along with the homemade chips by everyone as they were too greasy.

Order at the counter, then meals are brought out to your table. Very limited menu items.

The log cabin atmosphere was nice.

It was OK, just not our type of restaurant. We prefer other Kerrville restaurants.

“Love eating burgers here.”
Reviewed August 14, 2012

I really enjoy coming to this log cabin cafe for lunch every now and then. The owner, who is also the cook, is a really nice guy who makes really good burgers. He is often the only one in here, unless it's busy.

Very simple fare here. The burgers come on sweet white buns, which are amazing. The buns, I believe, could be Sheila Parton buns. I've had those at a defunct restaurant called the Stables in Houston and at the Wyndham Garden in Austin. Fresh, homemade potato AND sweet potato chips serve as a very down to earth side dish. And sometimes, I get a melt, which is also good.

It is very homey and warm in this cafe. It's a log cabin, and in a small, charming town like Ingram, it's very lovely. I found it to be a very good place to have lunch and maybe breakfast on Sundays. Check it out if you're in the area.

“Rustic decor, counter service, excellent food.”
Reviewed January 7, 2012

We were steered here by a local antiques dealer. It lived up to her rave reviews. You order and pick up at the counter, but since we arrived at an odd hour the owner/chef became our waiter. My wife had the special, fish tacos, and I had a Rueben. Both were delicious. Great food at a reasonable price.
