Owner description: Garrison Brothers Distillery is Texas' first and oldest bourbon distillery. Our bourbon is hand-made from corn to cork right here on our little ranch. Tours are Thursday through Sunday @ 10am, noon, 2pm & 4pm. We'll teach you the entire process on how great bourbon is made. You'll taste our sweet mash, sample our white dog & end your visit with a taste of our fine bourbon. We strongly encourage that you call ahead so we can place you on our tour schedule.

This is a must do. The wife and I are not bourbon drinkers, but we decided to give it a try. It was a great choice. The tour guides were very informative and have an obvious passion for their craft. The scenery is amazing. I highly recommend.

I have been on a number of brewery, winery and distillery tours, but Garrison Brothers was my favorite so far. If I had to identify the major difference, it was that you never felt that the tour was scripted by a marketing firm or that you were being sold something. It was more friendly, personable and down home than the others. You were having the opportunity to meet some very engaged employees who all had pride and ownership in the product they produced.

The tour starts at “the office”, a small rustic cabin. There are signs that welcome you to Hye, TX and specifically to Garrison Bros. Additionally; there are instructions to make yourself comfortable and help yourself to any of the assortment of wine, beer, sodas and bottled water available in coolers on the front porch of the cabin. You are then greeted by the first of the several Garrison staff members you will encounter. After the greeter was satisfied that no more guests were going to arrive for the tour, we returned to our cars and caravanned the short drive to the distillery.

At the distillery you begin the tour moving from the grains, to the mash, to the distillation, to the bottling. Each segment of the tour is hosted by an expert in that phase of the process. This expert approach made the overviews far more engaging and informative because the person was passionate and knowledgeable about his/her piece of the process.

Finally, you are led to a barrel aging barn which has a small section in the back corner set-up as a tasting room and gift shop. Here you get to taste the fruit of their labors. And it is well worth the taste. Great tour. Great bourbon.

We have been on the tour twice now - first time in 2012, second time in 2014 - and we love the tour and the people. They have a true passion and knowledge base of the business and it shows in everything they say and do on the tour. Stephanie is a great tour guide! We even had the chance to meet the owner at our last tour and he is a 'good ole boy' from Texas.

You start off with a ride up to the actual distillery. You get to experience it all from the start of the grain to the actual bottling that is all done on-sight. The barrel room is absolutely breath taking with the views.

We enjoyed everything from the beautiful venue to the tasting. Will absolutely go back again. The cost is minimal and worth every penny of it.

For adults this is a great tour of the Garrison Brothers Distillery in Hye Texas. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and accommodating during our tour. There is a tasting if you want and the guides along the way have the knowledge about what they are doing. The views from this place are amazing with the wild flowers. You can even hand dip a bottle of single barrel (after purchase) and number the bottle.

Such a fun and interesting tour! My boyfriend and I visited the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend and had a wonderful time.

All the employees were friendly and genuinely seem to love what they do. I'm sure it can get stale giving the same spiel several times a day, but you'd never know it!

I don't particularly like whiskeys (my boyfriend got to enjoy an extra tasting!), but that didn't take anything away from a great hour learning about the love and science that goes into this TX bourbon.
