Owner description: Garrison Brothers Distillery is Texas' first and oldest bourbon distillery. Our bourbon is hand-made from corn to cork right here on our little ranch. Tours are Thursday through Sunday @ 10am, noon, 2pm & 4pm. We'll teach you the entire process on how great bourbon is made. You'll taste our sweet mash, sample our white dog & end your visit with a taste of our fine bourbon. We strongly encourage that you call ahead so we can place you on our tour schedule.

This bourbon distillery tour was part of a "wine tour" we booked. Though we're not bourbon drinkers, the tour was very interesting and it was fun to taste test. The Garrison Brothers employees we met were all friendly, informative and you could really sense their enthusiasm and fondness for their jobs. Our stop here was one of the highlights of the wine tour!
(We got lucky and were offered to sample bourbon-filled chocolates made with GB bourbon by a local chocolatier - bonus!!!)

From the welcome area onward there was no doubt this is a first class operation. We arrived 40 minutes before tour time and relaxed around the fire pit with a glass of wine and beer from the honor bar and watched as people arrived and made small talk. The group is shuttled to the distillery via open benches on a trailer. The staff show pride in a quality product and made the tour a delight. 1 suggestion. You can reserve on line and do that even as you are waiting if you see the crowd building and what to ensure your spot on the tour.

We were on one of our many trips to the Hill Country and just stopped in on a local recommendation. Garrison Brothers distillery is located in Hye along 290 between Johnson City and Fredericksburg.

I'm not a big Bourbon whiskey drinker and was also with a group that also does not typically drink bourbon, but we were all won over by the folks at Garrison Brothers.

At the front office there is an honor system refrigerator stocked with water, Texas beer and local wine. It is best to call and find out when tours are scheduled but on the Saturday that we stopped by, they were at noon, 2:00, and 4:00. We had just missed the 2:00 and sat down to drink beer and wine when one of the Garrison Brothers pulled up with a tractor and trailer and drove us up to join the tour already in progress.

The tour was fun and informative. You see the distillation process and bottling. Of course there are also tastings. We sampled the mash, white dog and finished product. I enjoyed the bourbon much more than I expected.

Stop by even if you are not a bourbon whiskey drinker. Its fun and educational.

Touring the Garrison Brothers Distillery provides an insight into a proud small business making a top-notch product. The tour is well organized and conducted in a friendly manner. At each stage of the process you meet a knowlegable and enthusiastic member of the GB team. Each member really wants to show off what they do to contribute to the whole production effort. Drinker or not, you will enjoy learning about the process of making bourbon from such enthusiastic people.
