So we thought breakfast for dinner sounded like a good idea, and this IHOP is just down the road from us. Now, a typical visit to a typical IHOP would probably only rate a three or four with me -- here's why I gave a five. We were lucky enough to have Caitlin as our server tonight. When she took our orders, we expected to be asked how we wanted our eggs cooked, but were pleasantly surprised when she also asked if we wanted our bacon crispy or not, and our hash browns crispy or not. She took a very customized order from us, and without having written anything down, she brought everything out exactly as it was ordered (my wife was even satisfied with her eggs, about which she can be notoriously picky). Of course, IHOP food is normally pretty decent, but it was especially good tonight.
As others have commented, the atmosphere is typical IHOP, and this time there was only a handful of loud families with kids (one of which was mine!). At this time they are currently having kids-eat-free every day, so that makes it an even better value for families. It actually wasn't too crowded either, as we came on a Thursday evening. Personally, I can't imagine why anyone would come to an IHOP on a Saturday or Sunday morning and subject themselves to an hour-long wait, but that's just me.
Overall, if you're looking for one of the good IHOPs, you'll find one here in Hurst.
