We have dined at Elaine's Table for several years during the summer.
However, we made a special stop to take family there for lunch and were quite disappointed. The menu was very limited, and the food was not up to standards. Portions were small, and lacked flavor.
The setting is a beautiful stone building with a view of the river. The wine list is nice, and the desserts are very good. I had the chocolate cayenne cake...a favorite of mine. I hope this was just a fluke, but next time we will choose another restaurant.

“Excellant Experience”
Reviewed May 19, 2013

Loved this delightful riverfront restaurant in Hunt, TX. We had two delicious entrees: Tortilla Encrusted Trout and Dove Dinner Salad with house balsamic dressing.Priced from $15-19/entree. Delicious chocolate pecan pie. Nice wine selection, offering decent wine by the glass choices. Recommend sit in main dining room, as the enclosed porch, while more scenic, was too warm for comfort. Lovely restaurant with local art displayed in an old cottage. Private dining room for larger parties.

“Upscale dinning in the hill country”
Reviewed May 10, 2013

I've eaten here for dinner several times and don't think twice about going back. It's never been terribly busy and the food quality has been consistent. Service is good and the pricing is reasonable. It's worth a try if you are looking for a higher end dinning experience in the area.

“Yesterday's food”
Reviewed April 17, 2013

Very disappointing. Tomato basil soup tasted like Campbell's Soup dressed up with some dried basil, a little cream and olive oil which made it curdle. Messy soup bowl/saucer...........chicken fried steak probably was from the day(s) before....the gravy was "frozen in place" to the potatoes and chicken....then microwaved and even at that not enough....the gravy remained 'frozen'......we declined desert as we had seen the cakes on a table at the entrance, covered, but half used and didn't know how many days they had been there. Bad choice for lunch, but never again.

“Splendid view, refreshing lunch and kind hosts”
Reviewed December 31, 2012

We stopped here for lunch while out on a motorcycle ride. This unassuming riverside location offers charming views of the Guadalupe River and a menu to match. We had the lunch special (soup and sandwich), so we were not expecting a ton of food. I honestly cannot remember ever having a better cream of artichoke soup: it was superb. Our sandwiches arrived perfectly done and were just the right size for a lunch portion. We spent several minutes chatting with our hosts before we left and felt utterly welcome and at home. We will definitely return -in fact we plan to take some friends there- and we certainly recommend this very nice restaurant.
