You should read all of this!! I have earned over 5 million HiltonHonors points as a Diamond member over the last 12 years. This is the first thime that I have commented on TripAdvisor about a single property. I felt motivated to comment about the great stay and friendliness that I have experienced over the last 4 nights that I spent at the this Hilton property. I have been to Houston several times on business and usually stay downtown. I was attending a convention downtown and decided to stay closer to the airport to save money. I could not have been more pleased with my stay!

Rather than go on and on about all the particulars....let me point out a few areas that truly impressed me:

They picked me up from IAH airport with a free shuttle (unusual as this is not a typical "airport hotel"

Friendly, fast check in and clean, spacious room on arrival.

Open, bright atrium in the lobby.

Good variety of free appetizers and Honor Bar reasonably priced in the Executive Lounge on the 16 floor with a great view of the Skyscrapers in Houston.

Accomodated me with a shuttle to the local AVIS rental car location the next morning saving me over $150 on a rental car versus renting at the airport.

The staff at VINO Bar and Restaurant- Ceslo and Virginia went out of their way to be social with personal conversation, taking care of special drink requests and recommending excellent wine choice and food. I highly recommend the Black and Bleu Salad topped with a perfectly prepared Rare Flat Iron Steak.

Room was cleaned properly everyday with inviting ammenities and had a powerful, hot shower (very important to me).

Recognized me by name each day of my stay and remembered my drink order perfectly.

Free parking at the hotel and security roaming the parking lot on a regular basis.

On Saturday night, there was a High School Prom going on at the hotel but they did a wonderful job of taking care of guests despite the crowd. Still felt like a specially treated guest as there were chaperones at the elevator bank making sure the high school students did not travel up the elavators to the room areas.

You could say that I am a "jaded" traveler as I have stayed in Hiltons all over the US and Europe. This Hilton property exceeded my expectations and ranked in my opinion as one of the few that I would call "EXCEPTIONAL"

I was dissapointed that the room did not have refrigerator or microwaive. I thought that was standard, especially for a quality hotel like the Hilton. That would be my negative point. I didn't understand why! Made my trip a little inconvenient. inthat I could not refrigerat my water or warm my food.

This was a basketball tournament that this hotel sponsored. There were basketball teams all over the country. There was only one clothes washing machine and dryer in this big hotel. No refrigerator or microwave in rooms. No meats in the continental breakfast.

Dear Ronnie J,

Thank you for sharing your experiences at our hotel. We appreciate your taking the time to let us know how we did.

I am sorry we only have one washer & dryer for the hotel. We installed that because of feedback from our guests like you. In order to do so, we had to take out the soda and ice machine out on that floor, which is an inconvenience to guests staying on that floor. So for that reason, we did not want to take out a second one on another floor.

Like most full service hotels, we do not have refridgerators in our rooms. However, we do have plenty on hand for guests that request them. If you are here again, just tell the Guest Service Agent you need one when you check in.

To the point about no meat on the complimentary breakfast, the room price which included breakfast was set up as a Continental Breakfast which lowers the cost of the room for you and the other tournament guests.

Again, thank you for your feedback and we hope to see you here again for next year's tournament!

Stayed here on business and found myself wanting to move to Houston!

Nice rooms, quality amenities in the bathroom, it's all very comfortable and pleasant.

A $5 taxi ride to my office - I couldn't ask for more!

Hotel is very warm, only the bath tub needs some service and the internet needs some connection improvement. The looby is very good and the attendance perfect. Thank you so much for giving us an excellent rating. I did want to answer the two items you brought up.

Our current internet speed in the hotel is at 80 Mbps. One problem our guests sometimes have is that they pick up other none hotel signals as we are so close to other high rise buildings. If a guest picks up that wifi, the signal fluctuates or even drops. The hotel uses ATT broadband so If you come back, make sure you sign on to that and you should not have a problem.

I am again writing this as a Hilton Honors Diamond member. This is a nice hotel if you are traveling solo or have to room with someone for a buisness trip but not if you have a 5 year old and a two year old. I booked a room at this hotel because it was only 6 minutes from my parents house and we needed a last minute hotel. I used my Honors points to paid for the room two hours before checking in. The room we got was a nice room with a seperate living room area with a pull out sofa bed. Kids wanted to watch tv while we ate and the only kid channel was Nick. No cartoon network or Disney Channel.
There is a coffee table in front of the sofa that weighs a ton when we needed to move it. I had to have my wife help me cause I thought it was going to cut the rug.
I hhve executive lounge privilages and I have been at other lounges were breakfast was great, this one reminded me of a Moterl 6 lounge. A few pastries, tosat and fruit.
THe internet stinks, luckily I dont pay for it but if I did, Id be mad. It has gone out twice while writing this review. I was up at 12:30 last night and the internet connection kept dropping.
The walls are thin. At 6 am I could hear the guy in the room next door talking to someone. I could hear his whole conversation. I know that he has a long meeting today and that he is not looking forward to it.
Overall, I dont think Ill ever stay here again. Also, mad that I wasted my points.

We made an online reservation as we were looking for a hotel close to the airport. Can't say we had high expectations but we were extremely pleased with the quality of the rooms and customer service was exceptional. Parking is easy, check in was fast, rooms were great. Our stay included breakfast which was a nice buffet.

Overall extremely pleased. Recommend highly.

Room Tip: Go for 16th floor.
