“Unfriendly staff, Rotten stay”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 9, 2012 via mobile

The staff here is extremely rude and seems to go out of their way to NOT be helpful. The room was ok but not what you'd expect for the price and that part of Houston has really gone downhill. The Homewood also by Hilton also right off westheimer would be a much better choice.

Common areas of hotel are tired, but room was both dirty and tired. Iron burn marks on the carpet. Missing parts in tub. Faucet in bathroom broken, sink would not drain. Water leak in room, called maintenance, not sure if they fixed. They placed a large fan in room to dry carpet. Fan was running when I came back to room prior to dinner. Called front desk and questioned them about it. They said they would have it fixed prior to me returning to the room for the evening. They did not remove the fan. It was still blowing when I returned, carpet still wet. No follow up from staff. They offered extra hhonors points, but shold have offered a new room when they were unable to remedy the situation in short order. Disappointed in this Hilton Hotel.

This is a nice hotel, but a little dated in places. The rooms are fine, with a comfy bed, but small bathrooms. Breakfastis of the of the buffet style, but with good service. Meals in are very big portions but really nice. The chicken wings starter was very tasty, but no appetiser should come in a bucket. The front desk staff was really helpful and friendly. Even given the fearsome Texas heat, the air con was more than up to the job.

Stayed here for 10 nights. The service is good and the rooms are comfortable and clean. The location is central to all services and the site is safe. Staf is friendly and helpful. The gym is well equiped. I enjoyed my stay.

I stayed at this full service Hilton for five nights. First of all, check in was quick and easy. Although the front desk staff could have been a little more friendlier. Not that they were unfriendly; they just seemed to be indifferent to me.

The room was clean and neat. There are full floor to ceiling windows so the views were quite nice. As is becoming more the norm now, the room had a large screen HD TV with plenty of HD channels.

The bathroom was spacious and clean and the shower was roomy.

I did not use the gym, but it looked like there was enough equipment there to accommodate anyone's needs and preferences. There is an outdoor pool which looked very inviting, but I did not have the time to use it.

You have to pay for Internet here. It is $12.95 for a 24 hour period and less per period if you buy their multi-day package.

I ate one dinner at the hotel restaurant, called the Rio Rancho, and the food was good. It is decorated in a western motif and the cuisine is along the same lines, with steaks, burgers and chops showcased. The service there was quick and the wait staff was very friendly and made you feel welcome. In the morning there is a coffee station set up for free coffee.

This hotel is located in a very convenient location. Not far off the highway and directly across a side-street, so you can easily and safely walk across it, is a shopping center with a variety of restaurants, including Outback, Le Madelaine, Chilis and other specialty places. Other restaurants are a short drive away on the major road, Westheimer. And if you feel adventurous, Westheimer Road leads right to the Galleria Mall, where there is plenty of shopping and even more restaurants to choose from. Just be aware that where the hotel is, Westheimer is not that busy, but as you get closer to The Galleria, the traffic really picks up, especially at rush hour.

This hotel is not inexpensive, so I might consider somewhere else if I were staying with a family, or for a personal visit. But for a business meeting, this place is ideal.

Stayed here with family for one night on July 4th in a King Suite. Hotel was at low occupancy so checking was easy, but the executive lounge wasn’t opened and only one elevator was open. The suite was huge and had a wall of windows in each room. Bathroom was right next to the front door, so from the bedroom, you had to also walk through the sitting/kids room. Its was pretty neat on July 4th to be able to see about 8 different firework celebrations from the wall of windows. Hotel staff was very nice and even got free drinks from the hotel bar (which was empty) since the lounge was closed. Normal Hilton buffet style breakfast which is pretty good. Only downside which was annoying was that there was no sheets in the room for the pullout bed. We were already having a late night and out 2 young children were ready for bed when we realize there are no sheets. Called the front desk who said they will be right up. Called again 20 minutes later and said she will check on it. 5 minutes later they came and Martha/Maria was very nice and insisted on making the bed for us. Finally got the kids down and we started to fall asleep as well. 45 minutes later the front desk calls us and wakes up the kids to make sure we got our sheets.
Hotel is a little older and could use some redecorating. Hopefully they would also strengthen the walls because they are paper thin.

I read a lot of negative reviews - but my experience was fine. The hotel is an older property. whatever renovations were underway are finished until November. The rooms are good sized. The halls are quiet. The breakfast buffet was excellent. This is a large sprawling property with easy parking. There is an exec lounge at the top with drinks and lite food. Overall I 'd stay here again.
