Review of The Lancaster
5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Aug 29, 2019
We booked into the Lancaster as it was the closest Hotel to the Alley Theater. What a lucky coincidence. It was a lovely experience from being greeted by the most welcoming of staff to the delicious fare of their little restaurant. You could have cut our tasty steaks with a butter knife and they had a very nice wine selection. Our room was very clean, comfortable and surprisingly quiet. There was a nice assortment of complimentary snacks in the room and the complimentary breakfast was a great way to start the morning. Top marks! We shall definitely make this our ‘go to place’ for our little trips into Houston.

Excellent service!!! Excellent attention to detail. Very convenient. Bed was very comfortable and pillows were plenty and oh so plush. The staff was very nice and truley treated us as a guest in their own home. Will definitely stay here again.

We stayed at The Lancaster while in Houston attending a concert at The Heights theater and celebrating a dear friend’s birthday.

First off, the birthday girl was greeted in the lobby by the management staff with a glass of champagne :) The hotel staff went out of their way to make we had everything we needed for a wonderful stay. Liz at the front desk helped with our reservation - she’s such an asset to this hotel and she exemplifies the service and caring of The Lancaster.

Our room was gorgeous! We chose to purchase an upgrade and stayed in the Producer’s Suite. WOW! The room was beautifully appointed, you can Bluetooth your phone to their speaker for music, the linens and bed were amazing and the snacks....the snacks are included!

We had dinner at the hotel and it also did not disappoint. Dinner was delicious, with once again fantastic service.

This is a beautiful hotel, with gorgeous artwork and the friendliest, most accommodating staff. It is a true gem and I can’t wait to plan my next visit!

I have been wanting to stay here since I arrived in Houston when I saw the gold accents and Italian Renaissance design. When I arrived to the property, Sonny the bellman was there with a personable approach and helpful demeanor. Christopher checked me in seamlessly and clarified every detail of my stay. David the bartender exposed me to the true value of staying at a property in the theater district and the way to experience Houston and the Gold Coast region like a true Houstonian. I have never stayed in a property with a complimentary mini bar; that was a mind blower! The breakfast was presented in a supremely awesome spread. I felt at home and never wanted to leave. For a staycation, vacation or business trip, you will be pleased and delightful by the art of hospitality presented within every touchpoint of your hotel stay.

Room tip: Book direct to stay in a penthouse or artist themed room

i booked a room at Hotel Icon (mariott), and was told they did not have a room for me when i checked in at 9 pm last night, and that they would send me to the Lanscaster. The moment i walked into the Lancaster, i knew i had lucked out. The property is beautiful, Russel working at the front was very friendly and helpful. Champagne upon check-in never hurts. My room was huge, quiet, bathroom sparkling clean, the bed was so comfortable that even though i rarely sleep well at hotels, i slept quite well, and only to wake up to an excellent complimentary breakfast. i ended up doing some work at the hotel because i did not want to leave.
the lancaster is a gem. quality wise and the feel it has are similar to a ritz carlton. it would be my top of choice when i come back to houston.
