Every year around the Holidays me and my bride of 26 years take a night or two and do a local staycation. This year we chose The Lancaster Hotel on Texast in the theatre district. Why, I don't know. We were not planning on seeing a show and had no other plans downtown, but stay we did. The lobby and entarnce to the Hotel is beautiful. The quiet small dining room is charming. We had the limited buffet breakfast in the morning, but the food was fresh and tasty.
We did have to be moved to a different room after we checked in as the one they put us in was horrid, musty and not at all up to a boutique hotels standards. They did however redeem themselves by putting is in room 507. A wonderful large corner room over looking the corner of Texasand Louisiana Street.
There are a ton of renovations going on and signs everywhere say that all new rooms will be in place summer of 2013.
Unfortunately, there are not any amenities at the Hotel and not much close by, but if you are seeing a show or have plans downtown, this hotel will be fine.More
