Stayed here for seven nights ideally situated near all the oil and gas companys so no long drives to work.
Rooms are spacious and clean most importantly for a long stay the bed is comfortable. The shuttle drivers are cheery and very helpfull they will drive you to and from your facility or airport ....no problem.
I found the front of desk staff fairly helpfull some more than others and i would say the same for the staff in the bar.
My big gripe is the food.....this is my second visit here so i have some experience...i only ate here twice out of seven nights and one of those was returned. I have stayed at the Doubletree Dunblane back home in Scotland and the food was superior and yet similarly priced.
I mainly ate at the Sheraton across the road from the doubletree and restaurants like Pappas, Mamma sioutos, and a fantastic Chinese buffet just of highway 45....i think!!
Taxis are expensive but there is an alternative, outside the Doubletree is a bus stop and if you want to go anywhere downtown the 102 bus can take you there for an amazing $1.25.
Downtown Houston is pretty unamazing ....so you are warned.

We stayed here for one night on a layover and have to say, it was a really great choice. First of all the shuttle driver was welcoming and friendly -- even though it was 10:30 p.m. Just a very nice man. And, I waited less than 10 minutes for the pick up. Then I arrived at the hotel and got the same friendly warm welcome from the front desk clerk. They were over sold due to storms in the midwest/cancelled flights and her phone was ringing off the hook. But she answered every call calmly and professionally. I was impressed (and I really don't impress easily).

The room was great--not huge but recently updated. Large bathroom counter--which I appreciate--and comfy beds.

Another very friendly shuttle driver took us back to the airport at 7 a.m.

Clearly, this is not a "vacation" hotel. But if you need a place to stay for business or in close proximity to the airport, you can't go wrong here.

Stayed one night at this hotel as a one nighter away from the kids with hubby. The bed was comfortable. The room was clean and offers a decent square footage. Couch is also a sleeper. Didnt try the food at the buffet or room service... maybe next time.

Stayed one night, very nice hotel. Comfortable bed, spacious room, very good buffet breakfast in the restaurant, free wifi. Located on hotel row very close to the airport. Got a great rate on Hotwire. Would stay again.

My HH Profile requests a room on a high floor, close to an elevator. I received a ground floor room, which was the furthest possible from the lobby. (When I asked another staff member if there were rooms available, they said yes!?!) The room had poor lighting, a dirty bathtub that didn't drain well, a very loud ventilation unit that actually moved the bathroom ceiling tiles, and there was no water in the room, not even for sale. The food I had in the restaurant was terrible. (I tried what was supposed to be Chili. The meet tasted spoiled.) I was with 3 other colleagues, and all of us had similar poor experiences. Lastly, paying $159.00 per night was the real dagger! Definitely NOT worth the price!

We picked this hotel as a pre-cruise hotel - we were departing from Galveston. The hotel is close to Houston International Airport - IAH (Bush Airport) and offers free shuttle to the and from the airport. The cruise line did the shuttle to the ship from the airport and the Doubletree shuttle driver knew exactly where to drop us so we could connect. The room was excellent: clean, fresh, and the AC worked perfectly. The elevators are fast and always seemed to be available without a wait. Nice pool and fitness centre. The business centre is well appointed and the use of it is free. There is a Metro (public transit bus #102) stop in front of the hotel and for $1.25 you can be in downtown Houston in about 50 minutes. The bus does some local routing before doing an express run into Houston so it is a nice way to see some of Houston area. The staff are helpful and friendly. The only issue we had was the main dining room - it was so cold we both had to leave and get jackets to wear so we could get through what was a very good meal.

The rooms were adequate but we wont be staying there again. When we arrived at 10:30 pm to check-in after driving for 5 hours, we had a hard time finding a bellman. When my husband did, the bellman just gave him the luggage cart instead of helping us. We started with 3 towels and 1 shower floor mat on Sat morning but ended up with 2 towels and no floor mat for the next day. The A/C went out the morning of our check-out. We had to leave the room earlier than planned because it was too hot in there to finish getting ready for the day. My mother-in-law had a cockroach in her bathroom. On a positive note, the reception staff were friendly and the free wifi was nice. Definitely would recommend the Hilton Houston North hotel instead of the Doubletree Houston Intercontinental Airport Hotel. We will go back to that hotel on our next trip to Houston.
