“Best hotel at Hobby airport”
Reviewed November 23, 2013

This is the best deal of any hotel by Hobby airport- our rate was under $150/night. There is currently some construction on rooms on a few levels but there is no noise. Very good breakfast. Typical higher end Doubletree with great rooms and beds.

Stayed here one night. Fairly quiet considering you're close to the airport. Clean room. Little bit of a musty odor, but Houston is very humid. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Typical, and good breakfast. Had steak dinner that was also good. No real complaints. They let me check in at 8 a.m. and checked out late.

Stayed here on business. Place was clean and modern and has all the amenities one would come to expect such as free wifi and of course those great cookies! On another note, the beds were very comfortable and it appears they are remodeling so. The other thing that was good was the restaurants. Food was surprisingly good as I arrived late the first night and didn't feel like going anywhere. I had the pork Milanese and my coworkers has either the salmon or the stuffed snapper. All looked good.
Would recommend for a stay and eats if you need a place close to Hobby Airport.

The Doubletree Airport Hotel in Houston, Texas was a pleasant stay for us. We checked in early having just left a cruise ship that morning. The gentlemen at the desk found us a room and was as nice as he could be. The hotel is undergoing renovation but it didn't bother us at all. It will be a great hotel when complete. We ate a sandwich in the lounge that afternoon and it was delicious. And I sure can't forget the terriffic cookies!!

This hotel unfortunately fell way short of what is expected when you book a Double Tree. It looked like they were in the middle of construction, but all I saw was inconvenience and not much progress or work. The hotel bar was outdated and tired to say the least. I would recommend another choice for the price point.

Very convient location for early flights. Ability to leave vehicle for fourteen days while on vacation is very nice. Bed was extremely comfortable. Front desk staff was extremely informative and polite.

I stay in hotels often as part of work, and travel to Houston A LOT. I typically stay closer into Houston, but everything was booked where I normally stay. So I opted to try the Doubletree as it would be convenient for an early morning flight out. I stayed for several nights. I also visited the gym, and thought it was very good for a hotel gym.

This is a really nice hotel for the cost. The reason I wouldn't give 5 stars is:
1. With being so close to the airport, there is airplane noise. I heard it in the early morning hours. It wasn't like it woke me, but it is there.
2. This isn't a great neighborhood. Don't plan on walking anywhere.
3. No great restaurants near by. I would have needed to drive a ways toward Houston to find any decent restaurants (beyond fast food). The restaurant food was great, but I would have enjoyed additional options.

Room Tip: Ask for a cabana overlooking the pool. You'll be away from the bulk of the noise.
