Stayed for two nights for a conference and the location was great. Very close to dining and seems to be a very safe part of town as we walked to several close restaurants. The reception was friendly and efficient with my room being on the 4th floor. In addition, the small balcony with a view was nice. The room in which I stayed was clean and up to date.

I went to the hotel restaurant for breakfast and got good service at a fair price for corporate travel which always seems to be more expensive. As an added bonus, the weather was phenomenal and the sunsets were gorgeous.

All in all, this hotel is very good for corporate travel and would highly recommend as such.

Stayed for just one night, but the location is great. Very close to shopping and dining and in a safe part of town. Got a great deal by booking through American Airlines. ($92)

Reception friendly and efficient. Had a room on the 8th floor, views were great. Very quiet neighborhood on a Sunday night.

The furnishings are a little dated, but room was clean. Biggest complaint was the $25 valet parking fee. There is a self-parking garage for $14, but it is not really attached to the hotel. For the distance, I just paid the $25. Very steep, in my opinion.

Note to staff: Wonderful balcony with sliding glass door... but no room chairs that would fit on balcony. Would have been great to sit out there with my glass of wine. The weather was phenomenal and the sunset gorgeous. Alas, no room chairs would fit on the balcony.

Room Tip: #837 was a great room. King bed. Wonderful view off the balcony.

During this stay at the Hilton Post Oak, I had the good fortune of staying on the 12th floor. The room was nicely remodeled and had a brand new flat screen TV. This is the first time I had a nice television at the Hilton. Previously I was always disappointed to find the huge CRT televisions being used in the rooms. Seeing these things make me think of cutting edge Amish technology, disco balls, and polyester. I felt stuck in an unwanted time warp. Not good! Kudos to Hilton for upgrading this property!!!!

Room Tip: I booked 4 rooms for 2 nights at this property for $55 per night on Priceline. It was a bargain at t...

My 'complimentary' one-night stay was arranged by the airline after my international flight had been abruptly rescheduled, resulting in my having to stay an extra night in Houston. Check-in was rapid and efficient, and staff were professional. I was given a spacious room on the executive floor which came with a very comfy bed, a small balcony with a sweeping view of the area, and free Wi-Fi. However, I was a little disappointed in the layout of the bathroom - somehow, the bath and WC had been tucked in a tiny corner next to the closet; the lighting was also somewhat too dim. I was also given free use of the executive lounge/business centre which was also the venue for the daily self-service continental breakfast.

I'm glad I had chosen to stay in The Galleria district because the hotel was only 5-10 mins walk from good eating and retail establishments, making it convenient for me to do some last-minute shopping before heading for the airport. I decided to call for room service before checking out - this was fairly fast and friendly, a delight. Overall, I was very pleased with my experience and wouldn't mind returning.

No frill front desk girls. No smiles, both gals at check in and out. Gee.. I thought I did something wrong. As a diamond hhonors, it is hard to see front desk personnels so cold and unfriendly. I was about to say to them..... "it doesn't hurt to smile, u work at a hospitality job, and guests need to feel welcome." so, with that said, minus one star.

Parking:$14 a night which is ok... Garage a little hard to find, but once park, ash locate the elevator to lobby.

Lobby area:it is nice and big. Very clean and expensive looking. Looks modern. Nice business hotel.

The room: okay upgrade to regular king room on executive floor. Nothing special. The room needs some major renovations, feels like in the 80s. 90s. Minus one star. Rooms are comfy but just old.

The executive lounge: it is very nice view. Breakfast is good. Good choices.

Overall... It is an okay stay. Not so welcoming and a bit disappointed...at the front desk gals that set the tone of my stay. No frills.

Worth mentioning: the housekeepers are extremely friendly and happy. They deserve a mention here. They do start cleaning around 10am. Thank u housekeepers... Much better than front desk gals.

Room Tip: Executive floor room.

It's easy to see this property used to be on the cutting edge of fashion, but that was many years ago. The architecture and design are still nice today. The problem with this property is that there seems to lack a management inspection program in place to ensure the top-notch "Hilton" experience is maintained. The carpet is in really bad need of replacement. As we walk from the parking garage we find ourselves wondering just how bad does the carpet have to get to warrant replacement, does it have to have holes in it? The housekeeping standards are pretty much non-existent as well. The carpet is filthy. We stayed for 4 nights and did not have our room vacuumed even once. Mold is growing on the shower curtain. Caulking is missing between the shower tiles. Large visible stains on the room carpet. A strong musty smell in the room. This hotel has consistently awarded really cheap ($50-$60) price-line bids, probably a desperate attempt to improve their occupancy rate. We have taken advantage of this rate on many occasions, but no longer. Our patience has worn thin ... just like their threadbare carpet!

I have stayed since last year 6 times there for 2 to 3 weeks at a time. A good well maintained, but a bit older hotel. Staff is exceptionally helpfull. Breakfast is fine although starting as from 07.00 hrs is a bit late. Parking is fine but expensive. Being a Hilton GOLD member the upgrades are fine. Laundry services are expensive and could exceed new replacement value

Room Tip: Junior executive suite is quite nice
