“Interesting spot................”
Reviewed April 4, 2013

We had seen this place on a few different TV shows and decided to give it a try. Long story, short, it is primarily a bar that serves good food. Or maybe a good restaurant that just happens to cater to the beer drinking crowd. Either way, they have lots of beers and a menu that is sure to please just about everyone. Its not fancy but the BBQ, the duck and chicken taquitos, the mac & cheese and the roasted veggies were all delicious. I would order all of them again. Well, maybe not. Just too many great looking things to try.

Oh yeah. Lest I forget, the service was better than many restaurants we've been to in Houston!

We will definitely go back.

“Not as great as I expected, but ok.”
Reviewed March 30, 2013

Came here with friends for a saturday night out and was ok but not great. It was either hit or miss.My pinot was good but husband's beer on tap was way off, like someone had left soap in the glass. The cheese queso was average but was so red and not the normal yellow cheese color that you almost felr like you were eating blood. My friends brisket he said was so good, he swore it was better than Goode Co..My husband said his chicken sandwich was tasty but was a hot mess of chicken sandwich, cole slaw, egg and onion crisps..He said it was tasty but was very soggy from everyrhing piled on top of each other that it made the bottom bun too soggy to pick up.Had to eat with a knife and fork.As for me and my friend, we had the garden nut burger that came out looking great but as soon as you bit into it , it crumbled like a dry sloppy joe.Had to eat it with a knife and fork also. Was tasty but not able to eat like a burger. The homemade chips that came with it were overly fried and hard. Our dessert was a hit and miss also.Buttermilk pie was excellent and banana custard was awful.Bananas were not ripe and green and the banana bread in it was super hard.Could use that bread as a deadly weapon and they shove it in a mason jar that did not look too appealing.so kinda undecided on this place.Really wanted to like it :-(

“Wouldnt go back”
Reviewed March 25, 2013

I went with a group for a friends bday. Fried pickles were just ok. Had a taste of the Beaver Poppers. These were pretty good but you only get 6 for $8. Not worth the price. Also tried a bite of the fried okra, that wasnt that good either. Main course I got the Smoker Sampler. I thought the brisket was pretty darn good. Pork was just ok. Pork is Carolina Vinegar which is not my type. And for a menu that brags about Texas Im not sure why they have Carolina BBQ here. The sausage was horrible. ANY, I repeat any, store bought sausage is better than this. 1/10 for the sausage. BBQ isnt that great either. Wife got the baked potato with BBQ meat. She said the baked potato she got at the rodeo last month was better. Ive heard the mac and cheese is awesome but Im laughing at anyone who would pay $8 for an individual portion of this. Ive been to top end steak houses with awesome mac and cheeses and its $8 for mac and cheese that is enough for 2-3 people. Ridiculously overpriced.

I sat outside and service on this Saturday night was awful. I had to ask for drinks to be refilled. While some things here are good, several things are not. I wont be back, too many other better places around. And of course they have the audacity to automatically give you 20% tip for parties of 6 or more.

“Sadly declining”
Reviewed March 22, 2013

When it first opened, this place was the BOMB! Not only was the menu as politically incorrect as it gets, the drinks were phenomenal as was the food. Then... something went amiss. The menu was watered down, some of my favorites (the knocked-up bar-bar, which was queso with some of their bbq brisket mixed in) disappeared from the menu, and the food just wasn't as good anymore. I'll try it again but it's tough to justify with Baby Barnaby's not that far away.

“Try the Sausage”
Reviewed March 6, 2013

Neat place. It looks like a shack when you first pull up but don't let that fool you. The drinks were fantastic and they had a unique beer selection. Had the bbq smapler and a salad with vanilla dressing - yes very unusual but it went great with the beats in the salad. You must try the sausage, it was fantastic. Will defiintely be back when I'm in town.
