Description: Rattan is the essence of chic eclecticism. Here, the surroundings are as visually stunning as they are instantly comfortable. The Pan-Asian cuisine features brilliant presentations of authentic favorites, as well as sensational new executions. To complement each dish, Rattan’s comprehensive wine list is exclusive and indulgent. At first glance, you'll see an opulent wine bar. Upon closer inspection, you'll find a one-of-a-kind opportunity for wine connoisseurs and novices alike, thanks to our unique Enomatic system. This sophisticated wine preservation process allows us to present 40 outstanding and ever-changing wine selections by the one or two-ounce pour, or by the glass. Each is as true and pure in taste as the moment the cork was first coaxed from its bottle. Private parties and corporate catering opportunities are available.

“Great Happy Hour!”
Reviewed September 14, 2012

We had a business dinner here and I thought it was very good. We started early for happy hour - great sushi prices. We initially chose it because we thought it might have great vegetarian options. Dinners were enjoyed, especially the salmon and short ribs. The food and seafood all tasted very fresh. The veggie choices were extremely limited and not that impressive. Service was good and not intrusive.

“Great Asian fusion”
Reviewed August 23, 2012

Went for an evening meal with colleagues (one of which is a regular) - turned out to be a long and nice evening (including shots..).
The satay starters with the salty soy beans were spot on for a hungry pack, chased down with beers. All the mains were mouthwatering, including my pick of Kobe on a skewer. Had long glances to the other's plates as well. The regular among us picked the wines, and concluded his selection with one from his own (at-the-restaurant) stash. This was a new, but welcome deal to me!
Service was impeccable and attentive. The bill wasn't too bad either, considering our long and all-consuming banquet-style dinner.
Le Mistral, supposedly of Houston's finest, is right next door. This one is less formal, less pricey, and much more fun!

“Great happy hour offerings”
Reviewed July 18, 2012

I returned to Rattan to try their Happy Hour (I think 5-7pm) offerings and was pleasantly surprised at the number and quality of dishes available, from edamame to great sushi rolls. The price is right and the setting is quiet and peaceful.

“Unique Asian Style Cuisine and Wine Bar”
Reviewed May 4, 2012

We have dined here numerous times. They serve unique Asian style cuisine - sushi, fish, Kobe beef and other well thought dishes with nice presentation. The tuna sashimi avocado salad is outstanding! The Kobe beef hot dog in a pretzel bread hot dog bun is great! The Vietnamese garlic beef is tender and flavorful. The shaggy roll has nice spicy mayonnaise with tempura shrimp and snow crab. For dessert they recently added chocolate fondu for two with fruit, pound cake, marshmallows and a rice crispy style treat for dipping. Heaven! They have a wine bar too. One thing we don't particularly like is their restaurant music. It's too loud and irritating. They need a cool jazz or trendy Asian style music to fit the decor and food. Ditch the loud rock (or whatever that is)! Also, sometimes the service is slow, especially when crowded. Overall good and worth it for the food!
