“Excellent Food and Charming Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013

Lucio’s BYOB & Grill is a New American inspired BYOB, located on Taft Street near the heart of Houston. Owner John Sjoberg, and chef Brett Maesch and his team prepare a menu focused on the season, respecting French traditions along with classic and modern techniques to build a dining experience that evokes entertainment, excitement, and satisfaction. We love the charming service and recommend the beautiful patio for dining al fresco for the perfect romantic evening.

“Another delicious trip to Lucio's”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012

Was in Saturday night for dinner with 6 friends - while Lucio's remains a BYOB, they do offer a good wine list by the glass or bottle. We started with crab cakes and calamari and then moved on to filet mignon, the flounder and the rib eye- every one enjoyed their food and the service is perfect! We will be back in soon - if you haven't had the pleasure of eating at Lucio's- make it a 'to-do' in the near future!

“Local gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2012

I was there for lunch. Place was empty (a Tuesday). It's on a side street and you go right past it if you don't look. It's a cute space plenty of tables and a really nice patio outside the smell coming for the kitchen is amazing. We startled with the carpaccio which was with truffle oil. Perfect. I had crab cake the others had roasted chicken over an amazing broth and butternut squash. Service was attentive food amazing. All all of this coming from a frequent NYC eater. Go you will not be disappointed

“Lucio's Continues to be a Favorite Dining Spot in Houston”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2012

The menu at Lucio’s concentrates on seasonal and fresh local ingredients. The menu changes often at Lucio’s, but many of the high-quality ingredients (extra-virgin olive oils, balsamic vinegars, fresh herbs and seasonal vegetables, etc.) are constant.

Lucio’s continues to be one of our favorite dining spots in Houston. Ask for Robert or Steven for consistently fantastic service. I've recommended Lucio's to friend's looking to try something new, or those seeking an intimate venue to host a birthday dinner or special date. I always look forward to returning to sample Executive Chef Rick Guerrero and Sous-Chef Brett Maesch’s latest seasonal menu.

“Outstanding food and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2012

My party of three dined at Lucio's on a Monday evening in October after reading the wonderful reviews the restaurant received on TripAdvisor. Reviewers--thank you! Never have I been so happy to followed the recommendation of my fellow reviewers. The restaurant was a complete gem, in a "comfortable and unpretentious" setting (thanks AlainHarvey). Because we were business travelers, we didn't take advantage of the BYOB option, but the wine list was well-curated and extraordinarily well-priced. My fellow diners enjoyed a fresh and imaginative house salad while we waited for our entrees (sea scallops on butternut squash risotto, red snapper, and the sesame seed encrusted ahi on wasabi mashed potatoes). See dinner menu here: http://www.luciosbyob.com/index.php/menu/dinner. The entrees were perfectly prepared, plates were cleaned, and dessert of strawberry tart topped off the meal. Chef Rick Guerrero stopped by during our meal for a pleasant chat, and a semi-rowdy monthly blind wine tasting was happening in the front room. The restaurant has a great neighborhood vibe, and the diners ranged from a multi-generation family to snuggling couples. I will definitely return on my next trip to Houston--the restaurant is convenient to downtown, but away from the noise and bustle. A real gem!
