This place has such character and great Peruvian and South American food. We had the “executive lunch” which was four courses of delicious and interesting food for $17. Friendly waiter. Easy parking. Fun location in Houston’s up and coming East Side. And why not have the deep fried guinea pig for $60? They cost less at the pet shop, but there’s surely a lot of labor to prepare them.

Andes cafe has consistently provided tasty, fresh, Peruvian and Ecuadorian food. The atmosphere is very casual. The staff is friendly and attentive. The shrimp ceviche, not normally to my taste, was excellent!! The specialty cocktails were also delicious. The prices were at were moderate.

Made our annual holiday visit last Saturday and the food was excellent. Unique flavors cooked to perfection. Restaurant was full and with only 2 servers the service was really uneven. Prices a bit high for the portion sizes.

We visited Cafe Andes a bit confused with the TA reviews. We went during Houston Restaurant Week. The tiradito was surprising with roasted quinoa as garnish. The fish and pork dishes were succulent and left us craving more! Passion fruit mouse was the perfect Peruvian way to end dinner!
