“Courtyard Houston By The Galleria Is A Triple Crown Winner”
Reviewed July 13, 2008

Just had another fantastic stay at the Courtyard by the Galleria.
The hotel is FANTASTIC in many ways. The three that are most important to me are 1-Customer Service 2-Cleanliness 3-Comfort
When all three things come together in a hotel on a consistent basis, that is a huuuge asset and the management is very active.
The staff could not be better. The jack of all trades Russell Graham is fantastic. Works like a dog. As I am a frequent guest, this guy wears many hats and plays all positions. The hotel better not lose him or else they are in big trouble. I have observed him always going out of his way not just for my stay, but in greeting and assisting the other guests. He is a role model of a top notch hotel employee. Also in the am, Sophia is fantastic, always w/a smile on her face no matter how tough of a day. The hotel business is a challenge as the goal is not only to attract the guests, but once you have them, keep them happy.
The cleanliness of the property is first rate, spotless and the comfort of the beds is excellent.
This hotel should be #1 and my hunch is before the end of the year it will be numero uno in HOUSTON.
Thank you Courtyard for such a great property in Houston.

I have stayed at dozens of Courtyards across the country. They are my hotel of choice, because they are so very consistent and offer the business traveler everything they need. This trip was a combination of business and pleasure with my wife. The Courtyard Galleria now stands at the top of my list of favorite Courtyards. We spent three nights at this wonderful hotel and it ranks as one of the best lodging experiences I have had.

It all starts with the people. The front desk is Top Notch. Heather and Crystal checked us in and remembered us by name throughout our stay. It felt like we were staying at a Five Star boutique hotel. Other front desk personnel were similarly friendly and helpful.

The room was spotless; the linens and bed were extremely comfortable. The air conditioner was fairly quiet and controlled by a wall thermostat.

Breakfast was the typical Courtyard buffet - nothing special, but very good.

The location is across from Houston's Galleria. Everything you could possibly need or want is minutes away.

In writing reviews, I always try to be objective and report both the pros and cons. Sorry fellow travelers....I can't find anything negative to report. So, if you are looking for a place to stay in the Galleria area of Houston, you need look no further.

The hotel is simply excelent; the rooms are spacious as well as the bathroom which is simply insuperable.
The front desk staff is very gentle and cordial, they make you feel as in home.
Me and My sister staid for 3 nights and the best thing of all, the first they we arrive, at the check in, we had a nice surprise, the front desk woman told us that we were "guest of the day", and they put our name on the top of a board the whole day and they gave us for free the whole staying breakfast as well as the parking lote

I just highly recommend this hotel, you wont regret it.

I booked the executive suite with breakfast for $ 130 a night. The room huge and has a separate bedroom / living room. The bedroom actually seems a bit empty because it's so big. In the living room is a sink & fridge and the furniture is ok. Free WiFi is a big plus since I was there on business. Every room has a separate airco. The only odd thing I could find was the closet. The one in the bedroom has a weird construction and the one you want to use for your clothes is in the living room. but apart from that it was clean, & comfortable. The hotel is near the galleria shopping mall (it's one block down the street). It's a courtyard so you don't get the full hotel service, but what they offer is ok. Breakfast was good (works with coupons you get at check in) and the reception service was great as well (got me towncar right on time). they have a small internet/print station in the lobby (great for e-tickets) and beware of the warm cookies in the morning at reception I think they are addictive ;-)

  • Liked — room size, clean, value
  • Disliked — limited dinner options (need to go out to grab dinner....but there stuff close not a big deal)

I loved the decor and cleanliness of my room. We were on the 7th floor. The rooms are stylishly decorated with a contemporary touch. I loved the faux granite countertops in the bathroom and the deep blue shower curtain. The bathroom was immaculate which is always a plus. Comfortable beds with plenty of pillows provided us with a wonderful night's rest after a 10 hour drive. The workout facility is small but well equipped with 2 treadmills (with TV screens on each) as well as an elliptical machine (also with TV screen). There are also a set of free weights available for use. Lobby, pool and all other common areas were pristine. We had a little trouble with our access to the garage($8 per day) but the security guard promptly came to our rescue and allowed us entry without delay. Front desk clerk was amicable and attentive. I got an awesome price on Priceline for a one night stay (we met family at another Courtyard hotel in Houston for the remainder of our stay). I would definitely stay here again if I were in Houston. Great location for the Galleria mall. We traveled with our kids but the hotel would work for business travelers, couples and families.

It was new but lots of quirks like no mirrors in the room itself, which was also very dark. There was not a luggage rack (called and asked for one and told don't have any). Room was hot or cold never comfortable. The Pool was 60 some degrees and hot tub 80. When we expressed concerns to front desk, we were told to put in out survey. We never received a survey. I would not stay there again honestly just did not like it.

Arriving in Houston after dark, with no reservation, we stopped at a few hotels in the Galleria area. They were either completely booked, or over our budget. At the Courtyard we were pleasantly surprised that the price was $99, plus a fee to park that was less than the others. For an additional $10 charge, we added a hot breakfast for two.

The front desk staff was very pleasant and helpful, both when checking in and out. Everything was new, squeaky clean, and beautifully decorated.

The breakfast was a buffet with eggs/omelettes prepared to order, served on real dishes with real eating utensils.
