This hotel is typical of the newer Hamptons with clean, comfortable rooms and the usual breakfast bar. Based on the rooms (we were in two rooms), cleanliness, room design, etc., I would normally have rated this with four stars. However, we had a couple of problems that you should be aware of if you are staying here. First, I had chosen this hotel because we had three sets of travelers arriving separately by air and by car, and we knew that a hotel shuttle would make transportation easier, especially for my 80-something mother-in-law. When I arrived at the airport, I called the hotel for pick up and was told that they would be right over. Thirty minutes later, I had still not been picked up, so I called again. I was told that one of the shuttles had gone to the Mall with other guests and that they couldn't find the keys to the other van. I was assured that the Mall shuttle would be back within a few minutes and they would come directly to the airport. They finally did arrive 25 minutes later. So I waited 55 minutes for the airport shuttle. Normally, I would have taken a cab but with my mother-in-law arriving shortly, I had decided to stay so that I could put her in a cab, too. Fortunately, the van got to her terminal at the same time that she arrived at the hotel shuttle area, so she went with me to the hotel. Then, when we arrived at the hotel which is only 5-7 minutes from the airport, we went to the desk to check in. I had made reservations more than a month in advance, and I had called rather than booking on the web to make sure that they could give us adjoining rooms. The desk clerk told me that they didn't have adjoining rooms and that, in fact, they were full and would have to put us at opposite ends of the hotel on the first and third floors. When I asked why that was the case when I had asked for adjoining rooms, she checked the file and sure enough, they had a notation that I requested adjoining rooms in the system. She went to the next room, assumedly to speak to a manager and I heard the manager tell her that a request for adjoining rooms had to be noted in the system. The desk clerk told the manager that it was noted in our reservation. The manager said something along the lines of "oh well, we're full." The clerk came back and told me that there was nothing they could do since the hotel was full. That said, the hotel was clean and in good shape and all of our other experiences in the hotel were positive. I suspect that this is a good hotel that just had a couple of lapses that affected us negatively. One other thing to note is that there are at least two Hamptons in the general vicinity of the airport. This one appears to be closest and is just off of the airport property, but the other Hampton is well advertised in the airport. So when calling for the shuttle, make sure you call the right hotel.
