This 5 star hotel is alright. It is basically new and missing some character or charm to distinguish it. It feels like a Las Vegas casino inside on a miniature scale. The location is excellent within a short drive to galleria. The food in restaurant runs about $40 for breakfast for two. The ommlette are great as well as the bacon. The small dining room can be lonely and as I said it is missing some character. Not sure what it is, i'm not complaining because I live on a ranch but I know some of the more "distinguished" guests will pick up on it. We were in the bar on Friday afternoon and I never saw more that 2 people in there...so if felt lonely in the bar and restaurant. Quiet is good but it felt kinda stuffy in both places. They need to liveliness? The reception staff was okay.....everytime I went to the front desk to check in, out, directions, or whatever they were always on the phone with someone or doing something. They were never focused on the guest in front of them. The restaurant has waiters that are new and have no experience serving, I'm okay with everyone learning but both days that we are breakfast we had to ask for one thing or another constantly, sweet and low, toast, etc things that had been ordered beforehand. Overall the hotel is a good value, got a rate of $199 and others were checking in at $229 a night. The hotel will one day be a great resort but it has to learn from posts like this what to improve on so that they can grow up and compete with the other 5 star hotels in the city. You will not be dissapointed but you will notice little things they can do to improve the satisfaction...they are just learning what its like to be a 5 star hotel if I may put it that way. Oh yea, notice the freaky voice in the elevator when you close the door that it says going up......its weird.
