Little known, but should be better known. Extremely informative and full of good anecdotes and information about veterans and in particular African-American veterans.

“Untold History”
Reviewed March 31, 2014

I first visited this museum when it was in a house on Southmore with my dad and step-mom and went back recently with a friend visiting from out-of-town. The museum has relocated to a new and bigger facility with more extensive exhibits and within the museum district. One can learn about the contributions of African Americans, and the roles they have played in every war in American History. There is also a room featuring prominent African American astronauts. You can walk through the museum on your own or enjoy a tour guide. However, you will first view a 15 minute quick film before walking the museum. Be sure to purchase books and/or other items from the souvenir shop. It is definitely a venue all should see when visiting Houston.

“Zabojad Exploring America”
Reviewed March 30, 2014

The Buffalo Soldiers National Museum offers a great insight inthe Yankee Soldiers time. Uniforms colts and historical items cabn be seen. Even a french Helmet is exposed among American flags and paintings. A beautiful wooden Buffalo sculpture for a very little price. Simplicity and very warm Welcome was offered. Do not expect Guggenheim style as museum and you will be delighted to visit this part of American History.

“Great Way to Learn About History”
Reviewed August 13, 2013

I visited this museum with my husband and some new friends. As it turned out the curator and my husband are frat brothers. We were so overwhelmed by all the history contained in this museum. The one soldier play was so real and it really helped to drive home how important the buffalo soldiers were in the history of this country. I would recommned this museum to everyone regardless of whether you like history or not. A must see!!!
