Not only do we make it our first lunch when visiting family in Houston but dinner the night we arrive is always takeout from Goode Company Seafood. Our favorites include their Campachana, Seafood Gumbo, Crab Cakes, and Pecan Pie. Don't miss it.

the outside of the restaurant is deceptive - it appears as a cheap old 1950's diner. Surprise, that's what it is on the inside. They have put up some accompanying wood around the structure to expand it some, but what is now built that must be horrible in which to run a business.

As for the food, it was very tasty - but hold on your wallets. It started with a normal sangria drink that at anywhere else in Houston would cost $4-6, but here it was over $9 - and it was nothing exceptional. Service was reasonable, but after the order was taken, we only occassionally saw our waiter again - and that was at a distance. Yes, we were abandoned. Not good. The dirty floors, noisy rooms, and lack of service did not make up for the good tasting food. Head somewhere else, Houston, for seafood.

I always go to this place for the best seafood in the area. You can't go wrong with anything you order. The problem is that you want it all! If you go between the hours of 3:00 and 6:00, you can get margaritas for $3.50 and a great taste of many dishes for $5.50

My wife and I had a late lunch after touring the Houston Museum of Fine Art. We visited the original Goode site, part of which is a dining railroad car. Inside the atmosphere is 1950s diner. Our waitress was friendly and was extremely knowledgeable about the different raw oysters that they offered. She was attentive without being pushy. The food was very good, not fine dining but just good gumbo and fried shrimp and oysters. If your longing for some seafood, think Goode!
