“Cool place! Good food, great service!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 2, 2013 via mobile

I didn't want to spend $20 on the same breakfast buffet. I found this place recommended on tripadvisor and food network.
You can easily miss it, they are kind of hidden in a strip mall close to the galleria. Lots of easy parking in the morning. I was a little skeptical by the outside appearance. This deli is huge on the inside, very nice atmosphere. Wood paneling, shiny clean wood floor, take out counter with display of their deli meats. Service rivaled any upscale restaurant. Waitstaff (yes you are seated! Yes they serve you) was friendly, very attentive and professional. Selection of food was great. I would come back any time. Pricing is medium to high for a deli, but this is a "top shelf" version of a deli.

“Quick bite on a Saturday night”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 31, 2013

Needed to get out for something fast and filling. Love the variety of the menu and you can't beat the quality and amount of food. Service is good and speedy. Be careful with the triple decker sandwiches...takes 2 to eat it. I've never had a bad meal or something that just didn't taste right; always consistent. Fun place for people watching, excellent for families where everyone can order something totally different. Just the right amount of noise.

“As Good as New York”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2013

Located in the heart of the Galleria Distirct of Houston, TX, this transplanted New York delicatesin has all of the features that you would get in the "Big bApple" with the one major exception being that the staff is as friendly as possible. Portions are tremendous thise with a limited appetite should be prepared to share. It borders on being expensive but you get vgreat alue for your money.

“it's a new york embassy in houston”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 27, 2013

as soon as you walk in you are transported to new york! The smells, the sounds, and of course the taste. If the saying that "everything is bigger in texas" is true, imagine a real new york deli in texas..... You wont go hungry!
The decor, the ambiance, the food, the waitresses.... Everything reminds you of new york!
So the service may not be as perfect... But this place is real! The pickles are incredible, the matzoh ball soup is soooo good, and the omelettes are yummy!
The cakes and cookies are really good too!

“We schmoozed!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 22, 2013 via mobile

This place is just delightful! We sat in the schmooze room in back. The ambiance was fun and inviting. I had the mishmosh soup & my husband had the swiss & shout sandwich. All the portions are HUGE and you can tell they use very high quality ingredients. Allow yourself lots of time to read over the vast menu; I even started looking online ahead of time. It was $88 bucks for four of us to eat, so its definitely not a cheap lunch. On the upside, you can easily box up what you don't finish to make a whole other meal out of it. Delish!
