Came here for a business dinner on a Tuesday evening. Brought a client from out of town & I had to actually apologize...It wasn't what I expected after reading so many positive reviews. TTake note that there is a disconnect between the positive reviews written & the actual dining experience. There was no one to greet you but there was a foul odor (maybe dish rags) that you couldn't escape the moment you entered. Someone finally approached us & when we gave our OpenTable reservation, he said he had to go and get someone else & would be back. Odd. We almost walked out. The waiter finally came & was pleasant but rushed. There were only two other small parties there..maybe there's 10 tables total. the place was very empty & dark. The waiter didn't seem to have a good grasp on the menu. But the food turned out to be surprisingly good so there's obviously a good chef here. But hotel management needs to seriously improve the dining experience because it could be better. Turn up the lights, have a greeter, at least two knowledgeable waiters & make sure they're eager to see clients walking in. Travelers need to see that the Houston downtown can be quite lovely and that it has great restaurants.
