New owners have greatly expanded the menu, improved service, and lowered the prices or kept them level. My wife and I eat at Kaneyama at least weekly. We tried every other sushi place in town, but we keep coming back here. Plenty of free parking, sushi bar, and tatami rooms give diners lots of options. Their 4:00 to 7:00 daily happy hour makes this the best deal in town, especially if you want to check out this place. Although they have free Wi-Fi, Kaneyama has an extensive menu of specialties only found in Japan---great if you have visitors from Japan to entertain.
Their sushi is always fresh and served at the right temperature. Sometimes the sushi presentation is inconsistent. Some regulars like us ask for their fave sushi chef. They have over 50 different rolls, and the list grows and changes monthly. Don't expect lots of loud music, swinging singles scene, or flaming knife throwers. Kaneyama is more of a neighborhood hangout. Lots of regulars. Kid friendly.
