Several of us tried this restaurant as a group and decided to go with the tasting menu. We were not disappointed. Every course was a tasty treat with surprising combinations, nice visual presentation and the flavors were awesome. Little touches of heat but nothing that throws you off. Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable, helpful with choices and attentive from a service perspective. We were very pleasantly surprised and felt the cost was reasonable for the outstanding quality. Definitely on our list for a return visit.

Food was perfectly spiced & exotically innovative. The vegetarian selections are very different from the standard fare- I ordered the vegetarian platter with eggplant, lentils & sag paneer all presented beautifully. Service was good & ambiance notable.

My husband and I were in Houston for the weekend and went to Indika for the first time. We love Indian food and were delighted to find such a wonderful spot in Houston. The Saffron Saag Paneer was exquisite. The mango chutney chicken and chick pea chilla were excellent. The cookies at the end of the meal are my new favorite. Overall, we were very impressed with the flavors, the presentations, the range and quality of the offerings. The staff provided a warm welcome and excellent service. We will be back and urge others to give it a try.

My hopes were up for this restaurant, hence all the more disappointing the outcome. Nice ambiance, no wait for our reserved table, quick valet service, so all was pointing in the right direction. The waiter lacked confidence and knowledge, not a good sign. We're gluten-free and explained that to him when he brought us a complimentary appetizer to start off. No worries, he took it away, but he ended the meal with another complimentary sweet treat, which turned out had gluten, and he had to take that away, too. But a waiter who didn't pay attention was the least of our ills. We ordered the octopus appetizer, which was not all that spicy, not all that flavorful, and completely overcooked (beyond chewy). Yuk. We ordered the fish with mint chutney, which WAS tasty and the duck rangoon. Now, a word on that duck rangoon. Ok, our fault for ordering a Burmese dish in an Indian fusion restaurant. Not smart. But the duck could not have been less tasty (we've had excellent rangoon dishes elsewhere). Worse yet, they charged us $27 for such an insipid dish. That's robbery! So, end result, two people, drinks and meal, $105. We had MUCH better Asian food the night before and the next day at lunch for a mere fraction of the price. The absence of any actual Asian people in the place should have been a clue going in; we certainly will not return. Too many better options in Houston. I have to think that this place is so popular because it attracts people who don't mind spending a lot for food that is a bit more adventurous than standard American fare, but not much more than that.
