It was impossible to get a meal I wanted without heavy seasoning, and when I asked the manager if there were any dishes made from scratch that could omit some of the ingredients, he seemed too busy to be bothered, so I watched my friend eat then left and went to Antone's......a great place, BTW!

Wonderful, fresh food! I ate here several times while in the Galleria. No complaints! Delicious salads and sandwiches! Staff is prompt. They can be horribly busy during a lunch rush, but don't let that scare you. The wait staff and kitchen crew can keep up the hustle! I'll definitely be back!

We love visiting Yia Yia Mary's on San Felipe in Houston for authentic Greek Food. There is hardly a wait unless you go on a Friday or Saturday evening. The atmosphere is warm and romantic, especially when the fireplaces are lit. The service has always been attentive, and quick. They recently renovated the place, adding outdoor seating which is really nice in the summer. They have a nice little bar area that is separate from the dining area. If you visit in the evening during happy hour then they will sometimes have blocks of cheese and olives to munch on. They also have a Wine Room that offers private dining for up to 8-reservations are required for this.

Our favorites...the Keftides, Hummus with Pita, and the Chicken Orzo Soup (which comes in a huge bowl-enough for two). Their lemon rice is to die for!!! They also offer a variety of dishes that you typically don't see at other Greek restaurants, mainly more Greek oriented seafood dishes like the Cretan Style-Seafood Clay Pot, Scallops Lonian, and fishes (Tilapia, Salmon, Red Snapper).

The menu is extensive and the food is always great. I would say that the prices are reasonable. We also love Niko Niko's for Greek food. If we aren't in a hurry and want to be waited on hand and foot, then we go to Yia Yia Mary's. If we want a quick bite to eat and are over in the Montrose area, then we head to Niko Niko's.

VERY disappointed!

EVERYTHING was OVER-SALTED; the chef (cooks?) need to learn that SALT IS NOT A MAJOR FOOD GROUP! EVERYTHING ON THE APPETIZER PLATTER WAS WAY OVER SALTED! Manager apologized, (everything, including the fries, were way, way over salted) but offered NO COMPENSATION.

The Gyro meat was cut way too thick and then obviously reheated on the grill; shame, shame!

TERRIBLE parking, only about 20 place 100' from the front door. Don't get there in time; park about a block away in the second floor of a parking garage.

Save HALF your money, get MUCH better food, way less expensive beer and wine and way better parking - go to Niko-Niko's on Montrose, Skewer's on Richmond or Cafe Lili on Richmond!

We have been to Greece 9 times, have eaten Greek food all over the world, know Greek food and Yia Yia Mary's ain't even close.

The people who like it have NO CONCEPT of what good Greek food is!

There are at least 10 other resturants in Houston that are cheaper, MUCH BETTER, MUCH less expensive and have a LOT better parking!
