“Not bad...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 28, 2013

I'll give them a good rating because I like the style of the restaurant. It's different, has nice level of elegance to it. I was kind of disappointed that I wasn't greeted immediately upon entering the establishment as there was no "host" available so I gradually just strolled to the bar where the bartender was more than happy to serve me. Other than the absent host, everything was good. The food was great. I had a lobster and steak which was tremendously moist and their bread was very fresh. They're not my favorite steak house but they'll do for when you want to try something different! They're also located on a great corner in Highland village just inside the loop, one of my favorite areas in Houston!

“Absolutely disappointing experience”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 24, 2013

My girlfriend and I attended dinner here on 8/24/13 (Saturday evening). When we were able to secure a 6:45 pm dinner reservation as late as almost 5:30 same day, we should have gone with our intuition and not dined here.

We purposefully selected this restaurant because of the location, reputation, and being an option on restaurant week (being new in town, we thought it was a good indication). Clearly the restaurant was not particularly excited about this, as the restaurant week menu was not even presented or mentioned (until we specifically asked for it). Our main waiter was kind, but services such as beverage replacement was incredibly slow. When our entrees were brought, the waitress mixed them up and was overall very unprofessional/inexperienced. No one really cared if we had been offered a dessert menu or that our dessert had even been brought (with restaurant week, we each picked an appetizer, entree, and dessert from a pre-selected menu).

The real icing on the cake was when not one but two managers walked about the dining room, asking other patrons if they needed anything, but blatantly ignored our table. In addition, every table was offered a hanger for purses except for ours.

Based on this experience, we not only will not return but will also not recommend the restaurant.

“Jared is Outstanding!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 11, 2013

We frequently visit S&W on Westheimer for lunch on either Saturday or Sunday and Jared, the bartender, is just wonderful. He is so welcoming and is just great at what he does. The food is really great and the atmosphere in the bar areas is comfortable and a great place to spend an afternoon.

“Great steak - of course!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 31, 2013 via mobile

Visited on a Monday night and not surmising lay the restaurant was quiet. We got seated upstairs by the window. Service was very prompt and attentive. The steaks were perfect as we're the martinis. Not a cheap evening but it was good value.

“Dissappointment”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 28, 2013

We picked this place before going to the theater. We wanted something really nice with great food. The staff was outstanding along with the desserts. Our steaks were tough and our sides were just ok. Not worth the price. Our steaks were over 50.00 a piece with our sides between 15-20.00 . We will not be returning.
