“Excellent food”
Reviewed January 30, 2013

I visited last week with my husband before a show at Jones Hall. The restaurant was packed with folks dining before various shows and it was a little on the loud side, though not obnoxiously so and the noise level had gone down considerably by 7:30. The tables are jammed together, so wear your deodorant and plan to make friends with the person next to you because you will be sitting very close to one another. (Luckily we sat between 2 very nice tables). Along those lines, if you have to purchase 2 seats just for yourself on flights, this isn't the place for you.

The food was excellent. My husband ordered the Caesar salad to start and I had the spinach salad. I thought my salad was wonderful in both taste and presentation. My husband enjoyed the Caesar, but didn't like that it was presented as a wedge of lettuce with dressing on it. For entrees we had the salmon and the scallops. Both were prepared perfectly. For the dessert, we had the chocolate cake which was Ah-ma-zing. I don't know what they put in it, but it was what you want when you crave chocolate cake.

The service was incredibly prompt and friendly. Let your server know if you valet parked and he/she will get you a 50% discount. Also, you have the added bonus of being able to leave your car while you go see a performance!

Ps- the menu on the Lancaster's website was not identical to the one we were given when we visited ( though many items were the same).

“They care.”
Reviewed January 5, 2013

Small intimate dinning area. They take pride in their service, food.
Our meal was delicious. They will accomodate one if it's possible for them to do so. The bar area is well appointed. The bartender is a gentleman with whom we enjoyed conversing.

“Great Chef with outstanding off the menu items!”
Reviewed December 9, 2012 via mobile

Was a little crowded but its such a small quaint place they worked to give overflow tables the se attention as the other tables. The sea bass was the best (and I've had it in many places) I've ever had. The portion was ample and was a very reasonable price. We will definetly be back!

“A lovely little bistro.”
Reviewed October 24, 2012

We walked past this bistro when exploring the theatre district and it was packed. When we returned to dine 20 minutes later it was empty. The show had started... We were ready for a change from typical Texan fare and excited to have several fish options and vegetables. Thoroughly enjoyed our fishy fare and an excellent bottle of crisp white wine. Finished off with a shared cheese platter with port. OK, the restaurant was empty but it still felt warm and welcoming. The service was exemplary, the food and wine delicious and the bill not too much of a shock to the system!
