Description: Since the mid '80s, Tila's has challenged the boundaries of traditional Mexican cuisine with inspired, age-old family recipes. From brie cheese and pear quesadillas to tequila-marinated salmon with fresh kiwi and mango slices, the cuisine is anything but predictable. Only the vivid imagination and tequila-inspired tastes of Tila's could conjure up such extraordinary fare. Customer favorites include Salmon Borracho, Filet Mignon, Chiles en Nogada, and our signature marinated Chilean Sea Bass. The patio provides the perfect retreat for the neighborhood crowd to unwind after a long day's work, weekend shopping or as a precursor to the night ahead. With homemade, all natural margaritas and an impressive selection of over 60 premium tequilas, patrons will be inspired to do absolutely nothing at all. And love every minute of it. Tila's is warm, friendly and comfortable without any pretensions. Our guests feel at home with our unique family environment that makes dining here so special.

Picked this place strictly off the wall while searching for something different. Cool decor and interesting building layout for which they deserve praise. Greeted with a list of 85 different Tequilas to choose from and everyones maragarita was great. One friend's Tequila Sour was not correctly done but they fixed it. The chips and sauses were excellent and the special brunch menu had several favorites on it. Their cevechi was very good with a generous portion. I had the Carne Asada which delivered what I wanted taste wise. Everyone was well satisfied. I recommend this little place if you like something different for your Saturday brunch with friends.

Our group of six went for dinner one very slow Sunday evening (only about four tables were occupied). We ordered Margaritas, and were served tiny drinks of basically straight tequila. We then asked the server for enough guacamole for the table, and after about 10-15 minutes, she brought us two scoops of guacamole (it was decent, but nowhere near enough to serve six of us).

Meanwhile, we had ordered dinner. It took almost exactly one hour in a virtually empty restaurant for us to get our food, and only one dish (the carne asadas) were good. Literally every other dish went uneaten because the food was so bad. Moreover, our server was nowhere to be seen for most of the evening, so we couldn't even order a second round of drinks.

I'm convinced the only reason this place stays in business is that it gets the overflow from Backstreet Cafe right across the street, for Tila's, in our opinion, is the worst Mexican restaurant in Houston, bar none.

This place is friendly and serves very good food. I loved the decor, lots of knick-knacks everywhere make the place cozy and inviting. I had the Chile Relleno and this was one of the best I tasted in town. Add to that a few margaritas on the rocks, with the tequila of your choice - the tequila list is 2 pages long!

Really enjoyed lunch here recently with a few friends in this sunny, pig-friendly restaurant (there is art portraying pigs in many forms and sizes throughout the restaurant). I had the Pollo Azteca -- wonderful flavors, good amount of spice, boneless chicken. Friends had different versions of enchiladas. Waiter was friendly and helpful in making our choices. They stress cuisine is not Tex-Mex, but based on Mexico City's typical fare. Whatever it is, I thought it was terrific and would definitely go there again. Lots of interesting items to choose from.

We were a party of four and arrived for dinner very late, near closing on a Thursday night. We were greeted by our hostess and seated with a smile. We decided to eat indoors since it was a chilly evening. However the outside dinning area looks great. We were all pleased with our margaritas and meals. Great tunes and decor. Next visit we will dine outside.
