“Excellent Sunday brunch”
Reviewed July 25, 2014

Not crowded. Great ambience and service. Eggs Benedict was very good. Flavorful. French toast was excellent. Tried four Entrees and they were great. Dessert not as good. Pudding was very disappointing. Expensive but like surroundings.

“Fantastic Experience”
Reviewed July 23, 2014

Love this French inspired bistro. In a very upscale, quant area. Great selection on wine. The food was phenomenal and service outstanding. Met a group of friends for drinks and dinner; would definitely recommend this establishment and return for another delightful evening and fare. The Duck was amazing and Foie gras was on the menu which my husband loves.

“Mockingbird still has it”
Reviewed July 21, 2014

We had not been to Mockingbird in nearly a year, so we decided to have Sunday brunch to see if owner/chef John Sheely has maintained the high standards of the place since opening a second restaurant, Osteria Mazzantini, in the Galleria Area. I'm pleased to report that Mockingbird is as good as ever. My ruby trout was excellent. Two of the others at our table generously shared their dishes with me. The smoked trout and seven-minute egg with arugula was a perfect balance of tastes while the mushroom risotto, flavored with Marsala wine, was delicious. Service was attentive without being overbearing. All in all, an enjoyable experience.

“Our tried and true in Houston”
Reviewed July 15, 2014

I have been coming to MockingBird Bistro with my husband for the past 3 years or so. We almost always go at Happy Hour as we find it to be one of the best deals around for the quality of food, drink and establishment that you experience. Rene makes some of the best, if not the best, cocktails we have ever had. He certainly makes the best manhattan! Whenever my husband and I return to Houston we make a visit to Mockingbird and it never disappoints.
