The first time I tried the Stone Crabs Claws, it was really good. The 2nd time I went, it had a really fishy taste to it. I feel it should be served room temperature instead of chilled b/c it takes the natural flavors out. You can't taste how sweet the meat is.

If you enjoy fish, Miso Glazed Seabass is what I recommend. It's so delicious and tender. The sauce combined with the crab fried rice is awesome.

My boyfriend got the center cut filet and it was ok. Was a bit dry though.

We very much enjoyed our seafood at Trulucks. The crab and corn soup and the fish were both excellent.

Credit goes to the reviewer below who finished his carrot cake dessert. The portions are so huge that they could feed a table. The chocolate "box" contained a whole lot of sweet things that could put a real dent in your diet.

The new location is very nice. It was very busy the Saturday night we were there. The bar is very noisy but the dining room is quiet enough.

We used to live in Houston and ate at Truluck's about once a month. Now we go once every time we are back in Houston. This is our favorite restaurant. Monday night is the all you can eat Stone Crab night ($59). You get soup, salad and sides along with the crabs. When stone crabs are out of season they typically have all you can eat Maine Jonah Crabs. The wine list is also excellent and one can find good choices for around and also under $40. Try the Austrian Gruener Veltliner with the crabs. Finish the meal with French Pressed Illy coffees, espressos, etc. and share a dessert. One dessert is enough for about four people. You can also get the full menu in the bar.

We've been to Trulucks many times, including its previous location. We always found the bar to be lively, the dining room gorgeous, and the food great. The last visit was no exception. They had some great food specials in the bar (we passed on them) and great Happy Hour cocktails which we tried. Wonderful martinis. We reviewed the extensive menu and the wonderful crabs and claws which they bring to the table, but instead choose to order from the Date Night menu. You have to ask for this menu because they don't bring it out. For $40 per person you get an appetizer, entree, and dessert in nice portions. It's a great value considering the quality and quantity received. You can easily spend up to $100 per person here if that's your style. We left satified with Truluck's - again. Recommended to impress the special someone or important client.
