When the Houston weather is conducive there is no where better than the patio dining at the Backstreet Café. Great food, very good prices, excellent service. Sorry you aren't offering more wines by the glass though. Loved the Kali Hart by the glass, why did you take it off the menu. Your wine prices by the glass prices have become all most as much as your entrees prices. Come On!

Thank Mary H

Great restaurant, inventive menu, excellent service, wonderful drinks. Our waiter was amazing. Food was different and well-spiced. I had the red corn chicken enchiladas, mmmmmmm....

We had an early dinner last night and everything and the experience was excellent. This was our fourth time there and have always had a good experience. They have a good selection of wine, different price ranges, and the menu is well rounded although not extensive. I love the atmosphere which is business casual rather than stuffy/dressy, and set in a cottage with patio in center and in front of restaurant. Service has varied from good to excellent. Never had a problem. Food has always been excellent. The Rib with bone-in was a very good cut, cooked to perfection. Jalapeno fettucine with chicken was good, and the muchroom/artichoke appetizer was delicious. Valet parking is mandatory but complimentary.

My husband and I ate at Backstreet on March 30th. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and have been to Backstreet several times over the years and have always enjoyed it. This time was good, but not the great we have had in the past. Took forever to get a server. We had to flag one down and he started our order and then found our assigned server. He failed to mention that they were out of the champagne we had ordered and so when the second server went to check it took another 15 minutes before we found out we had to reorder. Granted they were busy but... Once we had ordered single servings of wine, it took a while for us to order. Again, busy, but.... Once our entrees had arrived, the chicken in my pasta dish was very overcooked and tough. I've eaten this dish many times in the past and it just was not very good. Husband's was off also. We do enjoy this restaurant and will probably try it again but will make sure it is not a busy weekend.

Heard very good comments about the restaurant and we were looking forward to eating there. Good selection of wines although they are missing Italian wine by the glass. We had an interesting appetizer but our main meals were ok. Maybe our expectations were too high....we may try it again
