Description: In 1982, we opened Tony Mandolaʼs Blue Oyster Bar on the Gulf Freeway, which we owned and operated for 22 years. A second Tony Mandolaʼs Blue Oyster Bar debuted on Shepherd in 1984, which he closed four years later in order to open our famous West Gray Tony Mandolaʼs flagship location. Our lifelong dream of owning a freestanding restaurant has now become a reality with the opening of our new, permanent Tony Mandola's location at 1212 Waugh Drive. We take great pride in serving what we think is some of the best food on the Gulf Coast. Everything is homemade fresh in our kitchen daily and many of our dishes are our Mamas' recipes. God Bless our Mamas and God Bless you for your patronage.“Dedicated to the preservation of the art of Mamas' Cooking.” Sincerely,Tony & Phyllis Mandola

We really enjoyed our Easter Brunch at Tony's. We ate outside on a beautiful day, the food (breakfast food for us) and service was great and the $1.99 mimosas went down easy.

This must be the best happy hour menu I have ever seen. Almost everything is $5, including excellent wine. We joined our daughter, 2-1/2 year old twin grandchildren, and their dog on the patio and had the most wonderful time. We kept the babies and dog (who was served a bowl of water) at the table while dining and while one other table was occupied. We are there at 4pm. After the other couple left the twins got to play and so did the dog. The appetizers were excellent, ranging from gumbo (2 orders) to crab balls to ceviche to pizza to calamari. The kids had a huge pizza which we boxed to take home. They had shrimp and fries that I wanted to snatch from them...so good. They finished with wonderful vanilla ice cream. Our waiter, Ryan I., was a delight, never becoming flustered with all the plates. We three adults had several Pinot Grigios and the entire bill was just over $100. How is that possible? A magical time...thanks Mandola's and thanks Ryan.

We had a wonderful dining experience on sunday 4-6-14. This was our first time at Tony Mondola's. We come to Houston twice a year for medical reasons so we reward ourselves with Great Seafood. In the past we have gone to Danton's and have always been pleased. But this trip we were looking for someone open on sunday evening and TM fit the bill. Ryan did an excellant job in waiting on us. He was there when we needed him and and left us to a nice relaxing dinner event. We had the snapper decadent and snapper martha. Both were excellant. The presentation and quality was outstanding. The basil wine butter sauce is tops!! The fish fell apart in my mouth.
We will stop in again when we are in town!!!

This restaurant has really lost it's way! Nothing we ordered was exceptional in any way for the prices charged. It had previously been one of our favorite Houston restaurants. We were there on a Friday night in Houston and the place was, at best, half full! Not a good sign.
Management needs to re-examine things....from drinks to appetizers to desserts!

Ok place, food not so great. Do not go if you are hungry , go to Goode seafood or Pappadeaux. Portions are too small , shrimp cocktail with " Jumbo" shrimp you get 6 the size of my little finger for 12.00. I know what a Jumbo shrimp is and this is a rip off. Ordered some lump crabmeat and got two teasoonfuls for 7.50?

Spedini was ok but overall had 4 appetisers and cost 60 bucks and had to eat when I got home...Its a marginal place with an old guard crowd who seem to love it even with its marginal food
